Description
This is a kind of fantasy and orchestral type of soundtrack! The first track Rise and Fall represents a knight losing an epic battle on land and being thrown into an underwater world. Shortly after waking up the theme of the world plays and he is now in a new world. Diminished returns is meant to outline his time in the mysterious new underwater world as it feels uneasy and ethereal at the same time. Bittersweet represents the knight finally returning to his home world with all the happy memories flooding in! But then... the knight slowly starts to realize there is something sinister happening in his hometown and it is not like he remembered...
I composed this soundtrack actually utilizing a new software subscription one of my teachers told me to get called East West Opus composer cloud. Plugin I used the most was the fantasy orchestrator in the plugin suite. This allowed me to lay down cool ostinatos and rhythms from different sections while being able to carefully edit the chord structures to match the mood I wanted! I used ableton 11 lite education edition!

Message from the artist
Hey! I am so very excited as this is the start of my composing journey for video games! I just started music production and writing music a year or two ago and this is the first time I have "finished" a piece because of the time constraints I was given and I couldn't be more thankful for it. I would love to hear ALL the criticism as I am eager to learn and make more content for more jams in the future! Thank you guys so much. FYI in the videos and screenshots I had to convert some of the midi into audio as my pc is not very good and it would not play the libraries and record at the same time without crashing thanks for reading!

Theme

Inside my world
Picture theme

How does it fit the theme?
I chose to follow the journey of a knight that got knocked into an underwater world from losing an epic battle on land trying to make it back to his homeland. From the picture I got ethereal and upbeat vibes as well as some mystery. In the tracks, it outlines the knight's journey from this underwater world back up to his world on the land. Towards the end we see a plot twist in seeing the Knight's home is not exactly what he remembered as the happy home town theme takes a darker turn.

Hey, it was an interesting medieval vibe! And I liked it! Tremendous work with musical instruments and the overall sound! I especially liked the chorus, huh)

Thanks!

This is pretty great - nails the regal, fantasy sound and the accompanying write up made for some great insight.

Rise and Fall kicks off with what I'd expect from the write-up, however that change of pace and tone just shy of the minute mark was really good. Nice way of playing with emotion and opting for a more evocative piece. Orchestration throughout is really solid, all in all each section is arranged well. Really digging the choir elements that come out later in the track.

Diminished Returns is another solid piece - playing heavily into the choir here with some cool string melodies weaving in and out. I like how you've relegated the horns to the supporting act here, bolstering up the rest of the orchestra by holding key tones and emphasizing the progression. This has a faint kind of pensive, forward-motion vibe to it which I like a lot.

Finally, Bittersweet makes for a nice departure in what we've heard thus far. Definitely more of an air of hopefulness in this piece. Digging the change in lead instrumentation here, opting for the winds instead to carry the melody before shifting back to the choir around the half-way point. Feels so natural and well articulated, do you mind my asking what you're using for the choir? Great job with it, feels authentic!

All in all this made for a solid submission. All three tracks are produced well, fit together and stay in their own lanes. Tight execution on the theme and great arranging as a whole. Great work!

Love the art and music man! The story is also touching. Great work. Very cool fantasy music, great themes and way to tie them in to each other. Really good work.

Kind of heard a similar line in a song from the genshin impact OST I think, I can't exactly name the song but its somewhere in there and I thought I would bring my own flare to what he did and take it a step further.

Cool Fantasy soundtracks :) Epic vibe

This was my first time venturing to make orchestral fantasy music so I am glad I brought the vibe!

Both the photo and the music remind me quite the epic nature of Elden Ring. You used the Eastwest fantasy library, right? I love those sounds and I really think it's them. The only note I want to make is to dare more with some variations of the musical themes, because overall the songs are valid: they sound good, they are well written and have good underlying ideas (Diminished Return is my favorite one). I would have just given it a little more variation. However you make a great work, this must be underlined!😊

I knew someone would recognize it! Yep, I used the hollywood fantasy instruments to write this! One of my audio professors told me to try em out so this was my test run for them! I am a new composer so your comments mean a lot to me, gonna be trying some more things out for my next project with these recommendations!

Love the epic vibes!!

The music as a textural background is great, and I would agree with OBcana on this one. It could use, like, one clear driving voice in the forefront

The ambiance is really interesting throughout all the songs. My only suggestion would be to not be afraid of exploring new ideas to add on to the loops. I felt some songs dragged through the loops over and over. Adding one more instrument every so often gives new context that your music wants to bring out.  It was very well designed and mastered though great work!
