Description
Classical/Atmospheric. The game is an RPG similar to Undertale or Final Fantasy. Track Descriptions:
I was inspired by the picture them to create a soundtrack that captures the feeling of it.

The first track (Illa's Theme) is the best example of this because of it's nostalgic, dream-like quality and waltz rhythm. The 3/4 time signature also replicates the feeling of waves in the ocean swaying back and forth. This song represent Illa, the protagonist of the game, who is a young girl that is fascinated by the ocean and dreams of living in it.

Cavern is as simple as that. Illa finds herself lost in a cavern with only herself and the ambient hum and dripping water. The leitmotif at the end is meant to represent Illa, as she is the only thing in there. This track uses (Cave water drops.wav by aurelien.leveque -- https://freesound.org/s/417631/ -- License: Creative Commons 0)

The King Has Arrived!.... and he brought his entourage of mollusk servants. What king? well the Octoking of course. This track represents the goofy nature of his servants and his demeanor. He tries to put on an image of regality, but it tends to fail most of the time. Overall he is just trying his best

Octoking- not to be confused with the character, is the track that plays when Illa finds herself fighting with the Octoking. Along the story she gets captured by the king and is kept in his dungeon. She manages to escape but the king blocks her way; the only way through is to fight that tentacled tyrant. The bell represents their fate. For whom the bell tolls? I'm not sure.

Thank You for Everything - Serves as the credits music, we revisit the past tracks in a piano only medley as a way to wrap it all together back to the beginning. There were good times, there were bad times. But most important of all, We made a few friends along the way. As Illa returns to the surface, she tells the sea creatures, "Thank you for everything..."

Theme

Picture theme

How does it fit the theme?
For Illa's Theme I tried to make it sound like a lullaby or something similar to the Ponyo soundtrack. The image reminded me of the movie since it focuses on fish and a little girl underwater. The bubbles are also reminiscent of the jellyfish from the intro. For that I decided to focus on the style of classical music since it is heavily featured in the film and other Studio Ghibli films. As for the other tracks they just came naturally after that and I just tried to match the feeling to the first track.

Great thought put into Illa's Theme. You nailed the feeling you described. Thank You For Everything was such a good wrap, I love the part from 1:29. Nice melodies on all the tracks overall too. Enjoyed it!

I had a lovely time listening to your songs, nice job :)

Each song really captures the tone of what it represents and overall, it does a good job of telling a story musically. I will say that I think it would help to bump up the general volume a bit, especially for "Cavern."

The tracks go really well together! I like the melodies a lot and can completely imagine a game that would use this soundtrack (2D adventure/RPG). It was very pleasant listening to the music!

Really cute first track, it does the job and the theme is really great but it become really repetitive and the lack of variations is the main issue.

Cavern looks really minimalist maybe too minimalist. The main melody is too far.

The king got goofy vibe i like that a lot x) some crazy king ^^

Octoking is interesting, and great ideas.

Last track is nostalgic but the transition isnt really smooth and kill a bit the mood.

Overall i think you will benefit of a better mix.

Thank you for your work :)

i like the classical feel of the first track, but the tone of the piano falls really flat on it's own. i appreciate the idea of cavern, but i wish the melody was more apparent within the track. i think octoking is a good vibe overall and fits well in the project. thank you for everything is a sweet track, so it's over the first for me but still suffers from the same flat tone the piano carries. that being said, i did enjoy a majority of this project, as i think the ideas are there, they just need to be executed better.
