Description
It's a story heavy, psychological horror game about a schizophrenic pianist.

I wanted to create an overall dark theme with a tiny bit of hope.

Track 1. "Inside My World" - This track serves as the main theme for the game and it sets the mood.

Track 2. "Confusion" - When the symptoms first showed themselves. The main protagonist is confused and doesn't really know what's going on. Is this normal? Who are you? What's happening to me?

Track 3. "Persistence" - The voices are getting louder. The visions are clearer and appear more frequently. The illness is taking over. It's hard to fight against it. How much longer can i hold on? It doesn't matter, I have to keep fighting. I will not give up!

Track 4. "Acceptance" - There is nothing I can do. I tried everything. No medication, nothing seems to help. All I can do is to accept it and live with myself... and them.

Theme

Inside my world

How does it fit the theme?
The game gives the player a view into someones world who suffers from schizophrenia.

Love the variety and depth of sound and range of emotion for only using a piano. Excellent work!

Wow, this piano is so awesome! Great job. The theme and music go together so well! Good job!

Very cool to use solo piano to enhance your theme and story!

You are an incredible composer. I enjoyed every second of it, good work :)

I’m really impressed with how each track takes you through different emotions. "Inside My World" is so reflective, "Confusion" gets the tension just right, "Persistence" mixes dark and hopeful vibes, and "Acceptance" finishes with a haunting touch. You nailed the mood and variety, congrats!

Heh, it's mesmerizing from the very first notes!

Inside My World - something terrible has definitely happened inside my world.... Is there something wrong with me? Am I sick?

Confusion - I'm going crazy... something terrible has happened. What's going on around me? Am I finished? Who are all these people? Who am I?!

Persistence - I'll give you all the answers! I got it! Something is definitely good! It's not over! There's hope!

Acceptance - No... It's gone. Oh, well. I'll have to accept who I am now. Who am I? I don't know. What am I for? I don't know that either. But I do know that I'm still alive, sort of. Thanks to the drugs for not helping, thanks to the doctors for telling me how long I have to live. Thank you for not killing me.

Thank you...

I really like the hang notes used in Acceptance - it perfectly sells that 'not all is as it seems' kind of vibe in an otherwise almost positive sounding track. This is a great accompaniment to being unable to fully reign or perhaps understand what it is you're feeling. Bordering on haunting - almost like it is luring you deeper into a maze and you can't quite find the will to break off and turn around.

Confusion is a little more straight-forward in its storytelling. Hectic and tense. Furthering from the maze comment above, it feels like something that might play once you're deep in and you've realised that you've lost track of what was guiding you down there to begin with. Really like how you captured this mounting unease and panic - super solid choice of chords in this as well, reminds me of underscore in a movie.

Inside my World is pensive; almost like an unwilling acceptance is looming on the fringe of the mind. It's dark but not ominously dark. Evocative and ever-progressing. Once again I love the use of time between the chords in this - letting everything sink in and breathe, much more impactful than simply busying things up. Heavy chords as well - really exploring the lower register. Side note - the intro progression to this reminded me of Something About Us by Daft punk, which in itself is an emotional and evocative track so that was neat.

And, finally, Persistence to round out my listening. There's no sugarcoating what kind of stage this is setting - it's dark, it's omnipresent. Some waning hope in some of the lead melodies at the beginning and then an unapologetic frantic loss of hope with the staccato deep chords. Great idea having this end on a more emotional outro with the re-introduction of some high register playing.

I realize that I listened to these effectively backwards I think - I just followed the order they're in on SC but it felt cohesive as an experience. Also, lmao @ the profile pic on there also.
Super solid submission - varied, virtuosic and perfectly in theme with the write-up and the vibe you were going for. Unapologetically dark and oppressing at points. Enjoyed it, best of luck!

The tracks were able to differentiate themselves even though they were all moody piano pieces. I liked Acceptance the best, and your use of the low register in Persistence and Confusion was very in theme.

That's just a really lovely, varied, exciting bit of piano music! It's driving sometimes, it's reflective sometimes, it's very scary, and very tragic. You've left the last chord unresolved on Acceptance, very nice choice. Well done, great writing!

I really liked your usage of different energies while keeping it gloomy, especially when using an overwhelming amount of sustain followed by short notes in Persistence.

Really cool idea with the theme and such beautiful composition across all fronts!

Incredible that you were able to compose such unique and deep pieces in the alotted time with so little repetition. The music is beautiful.
