Message from the artist
Was very close to not submitting at all. Very busy, only ended up having 4 hours for this, I'd say the track is more of a basket of ideas, that I couldn't fully realize within the time. It's a mess! But it was still a lot of fun to create something, so I decided it was worth uploading anyway!

How does it fit the theme?
I had a sort of progression in mind, with the girl growing up with the dragon, for a softer start, moving further near the end, the track becomes more powerful, as they're grown up and more powerful as well. Didn't have a lot of time to think much more about it to be honest :D

Great work on this! I'm impressed at how well the piece works both delicately and powerfully. Especially nice transitioning between the two using the motif (which I love). I like how it speeds up with the strings, it flows really well. I saw you used the word messy, I think we share that feeling with this kind of writing, but I wouldn't say it came out that way at all, it feels to me like it's telling a story. It actually reminded me of some of the cinematic music I used to listening from Alex Moukala, when I used to watch him a lot. Really sad I missed the chance to vote for this, awesome job on it, keep it up!
No worries about the rating, I find insights like these to be the most valuable thing of all! Perhaps you're right, I tend to be a little harder on the tracks I make when I have to rush them through, then it turns out it really wasn't so bad. There's a lots of things I was going to do, a lot of polish, some sections that didn't come out exactly right (as I imagined it in my mind), etc, Just had to press submit though, hahah! It's the same for all of us. But I am happy I made it, now I can keep working on the track, and do all of those things I wanted to do.
Alex Moukala wasn't familiar at first, but I looked him up, and I have indeed seen and heard his stuff before, he's very good, so being compared to him is nice. :)
Also, congrats to your scores! It's a big shame you didn't hit the median ( me neither ;) ), your placement would've been way higher with your actual raw scores, but it's still good, it's well deserved!
Ah, I see what you mean. Yeah, I find that what makes it into my own music can be a lot of chance under pressure, so I can certainly relate. Glad it seems you're happy with working through it and have a way to keep refining it. I find jams like these help in a lot of different ways for getting tracks out and whatnot. It looks like the next OST jam gives us an entire week, so I'm really excited for that in a couple of months. And thanks a lot for the kind words! While the rating's always nice, I'm also definitely with you on finding more value in the feedback and the like. I hope to see you around for the next jam :D
Like others have said, the climax and orchestration is very well done! This submission stands out for sure!
Thank you very much, for your nice words! ^^ Looking forward to the next jam, until then I hope to make a more polished piece out of the composition I made here. (:
Great track ! The instrumentation's buildup is very effective and the vocals in the latter half bring a really touch. Good job !
Thank you! I love build ups overall, my favorite compsitions have their fair share often time, so I can't help putting emphasis on that in my own compositions also. (:
Amazing climax, and beautiful melodies/orchestration! Great job!! I really like this :)
Thank you, I have taken quite a liking to the melody especially, I have toyed around with it on a virtual piano, so I hope to make something more with it in the future. (:
oh wow I absolutely love those vocals in the latter half!!! what vst/plugin did you use for those omg
That would be Zero-G Ethera Gold Atlantis 3 ( quite the mouthful writing the whole thing ).
Stefano Maccarelli is a master at vocal libraries, you always get a lot more than you think with his libraries. Can't recommend it enough, I barely graced the surface in my track. :) The asking price is fair, considering all the legatos with different vowels, phrases, vocal synths and more. BUT, Stefano's libraries go on sale often for really nice bargains, so watch out for those if you're interested I'd say.
This has such expressive dynamics! Very well done!
Thank you, yes, I want to use dynamics even more, to be honest I didn't even have time to spend on the fine tuning of dynamics, so they're quite static in certain parts, but the smallest of touch here and there can still do a great deal of difference. :)
Great work, it sounded awesome. Very strong composition.
Thank you! I hope to tidy it up and make an extended track, I feel like there's so much more I can do with this.:)
Great work, feels like watching a small movie from start to finish. Keep it coming!
Thank you! I do prefer in a way, to tell stories with my tracks, thinking of them as medley's for certain parts of a game, rather than just one track for one specific part or such. All approaches are viable, but I feel it's more fun for me to work this way (when making actual stems for a game OST I can't do this tho, obv ^^)
This is really cool, I love the changes in dynamic as the track progresses! It definitely feels like I've just been on a huge journey!
Thank you! Yeah, since I knew I would only really have time left to do a track as long as the shortest eligible time, I wanted to fit different moods and expressions in there to make up a journey in that short time.
