Description
I went for and adventure soundtrack with influences like flamenco and arabian music.
The Guitar and the Castanets/palms are kind of the core instruments for most of the soundtrack, and represent Mara, the little spanish corsair who went on a trip to discover the Mediterranean lands.
It serves both to represent Mara's identity and later on it evolves and adapt to a more arabic instrumentation, keeping a similar texture
Message from the artist:
This was the first music jam I participated in, and it was awesome, hope to repeat the experience again!
Theme
How does it fit the theme?
The "journey" is composed by two factors: The actual
trip, and the personal experience
. My idea was to foment both factors, mixing the joy of exploring new lands and geting to know iconic locations like Estambul.
That's certaily something to remember, but it's impotrant not to forget as well, specially where do we come from :)

good work. i enjoyed most tracks but you killed it with alejandria -- perfect arrangement for a game
You got a lot out of those timbres. The music is varied enough to invoke the sense of different places well. I like the flute parts in the Main Theme (Variant). I like how distinctly creepy Puzzle del campanario sounds. It makes me imagine a creepy bell tower well. Generally this music makes me want to go on a pirate adventure. Any moment percussion was added it was great. I really like what you did.
Incredible soundtrack! I love the rich cultural content. Also love the "one two three, one two" on the fourth track (Rumba de las espadas).
I was going to criticize on the mixing side of things but I read some comments that already described what I was thinking.
Very creative. Great work.
Thank you! Everything in this soundtrack is digital. I tried to put a lot of care in the "playing" technique tho, specially in the guitars.
The winds you are asking for... Do you mean the "flute" for the main melody?, Is from a free kontakt library, I'll share you the link if you are interested :) https://taqs.im/downloads/kontakt-free/
Thanks again for commenting ^^
don't understand why you made it so long, you already got me on board the first moment you hit your guitar. very nice work. a lot of different songs, but all fitting together in a nice way. can't wait for someone to post some gameplay or a trailer for the movie made with this theme.
Holy cow, this is gorgeous!! Love the story, too—so evocative. It sounds so pro already, and the volume of your tracks is super admirable. The very first track gave me Gerudo Valley/Wind Waker vibes, and Rumba REALLY harkened to Gerudo Valley, but I admire that your music still sounds very unique. Hard to strike that balance and you did it beautifully!
WOW!
Simply wow.
I really like the whole conception of album (all tracks together is more then sum of all tracks). Artwork on cover is amazing, Mara looks like really cool adventurer.
And now I really want to play this game! ^_^
This was beautiful, full of flavour and theme. Everything worked so well!
An incredible and very accurate soundtrack for one of the most interesting places in the world. Good job!
Wow. One of the best examples of developing a soundtrack in some very differing styles- but making it all seem like one coherent experience. I love it- sounds awesome!
I have no words to describe your music. This is so amazing. Main theme amazing. I love these melodies. You are awesome! ^^
Amazing orchestration!!!! The production quality of all your tracks is so good! The scale of a project that you've done with the amount of high-quality music is noteworthy. To be honest I think everyone in the comments section here has summed up your work nicely. It really is a professional finished product that will catch the attention of any game developer. Fantastic work!! <3
An OST which perfectly illustrates the theme, close to an adventure like "FinalFantasy CristalChronicle" with Mediterranean sauce (mainly spanish, except the last track obviously), and with medieval sounds, especially in its rhythms and melodies. A success on all the musics, very expressive and immersive. The orchestral conservation allows, despite the great diversity of the tracks, to offer uniqueness throughout the OST. By listening, the listener takes a wonderful journey filled with memories of battles, exploration of amazing places and fabulous encounters. A little gem! The proposed video of the DAW in action is a considerable bonus to appreciate all the work behind it, and to discover with amazement that each instrument is indeed virtual (in particular the guitar which, in its playing and more precisely its attacks, had everything to seem recorded IRL) . We regret the short duration of some tracks, but the whole happily exceeds the expected expectation. A work of goldsmith for an imaginary game that deserves to exist for its real OST.
Thanks a lot. I appreciate your kind words, I'm glad you liked my work.
I did consider playing a real guitar (I actually play the guitar :D) , but I don't have a decent mic and some parts I wrote were too tricky to me to perform. I did however put a lot of care and attention to the guitar attacks and phrasing. I wanted to sound authentic, as is one of the core instruments of the soundtrack.
I cared some details like keeping a maximum of two guitar "players" at the same time (one for the chords, and one for the complementary melodic phrasings) and trying to make them feel like they are responding to each other to make it sound as natural as possible. I think kinda extended too much my thoughts on this reply lmao
Thanks again! ^^
I swear I thought you were playing the guitar! Really realistic sounding midi guitar orchestrations.
That main theme is just....yes more of that. Really ear catching modulations and great execution on the ethnic/Mediterranean theme. Also love the attention to audio detail, especially helping drive the story of your tracks, like in coast town.
With every compliment I try to add some constructive criticism. Nit picky here because theres not much to pick at, but some tracks were louder than others by quite a few LUFS (perceived loudness for those who don't know) but thats something that could be adjusted easily in the mastering process of the album as a whole.
Although, judging by the production quality of this OST, i'm sure you're already well aware of this haha.
Cheers, thanks for sharing!
Thanks a lot for taking your time to write all of this, I really appreciate it. And yeah, I'm aware of the difference in sound volume of the tracks. Estambul is specially very quiet (all the tracks are kinda quiet compare to the other entries of the jam actually).
That might be because I'm stupid and I produced the tracks with different sound volume on my PC... Thank you for pointing it tho, is a nice reminder and asign of honesty. I'm actually planning on adjust the volume and the EQ and improve the sound quality in general these days.
