Explain your hypothetical game concept & how you interpreted the theme!
I had in my mind fast paced fighting game while making the music so i would constantly ask "can i fight to this?" Theme was a great excuse to explore resonant filters as oscillators that carry their own melodic line.
What genre is your soundtrack?

My intention wanted to blur the lines between tonal and microtonal. Start somewhere familiar and try something different through the use of resonant filters. Almost like trying to harness throat singing through the use of modular synths.

Very gritty sounds coming from those filters. Can see it in a top down pixel art beat-em-up set in a dystopian future.
Not sure how you recorded this, but seems to be a bit of noise/hum going on (especially noticeable at the start). Wasn't sure if that was an intentional layer or not; perhaps if it was meant to be intentional maybe make it more obviously so?

-the hum is from one of the distortion modules, i use for gain and wavefolding. I consider it part of the aesthetic. Awkwardly enough i perceived it within the context of a radio/television (minus the news in the background) and a clock ticking like Clark Kent or Bruce Wayne (90s batman) in office until suddenly...
-Any ideas for making it sound more intentional? or an example of someone who did it in an intentional manner would help as well.
-I think the interesting thing about this jam's theme is that everyone is creating music that subconscious represents the hero in their minds eye. And i must admit to being a big fan of the Fightclub/ batman-esk/ madmax anti-hero architype.
hmmmm in terms of ideas...
- have it cut in and out?
- layer it with other 'noise' - radio static/radio dial sweeps/distoerted radio-y vocals/satellite bleeps and bloops?
- What made it especially obvious that it was a result of a noisy module/hum was that when the bass comes in it 'ducks' the noise, and it fades back in - making it clear that it's not an additional ambient layer on the composition.
As I don't do much live/dawless stuff, the solutions above are maybe more acheivable in a DAW. Not sure how'd you'd go about some of those ideas on your rack...

This was a really cool experimental piece! I liked the sounds you crafted and how they slowly evolved over the course of 7 minutes. The live performance video was also a huge flex.
I'm not sure I saw where the "Hero's Journey" theme was in the piece, but I understand if you kept that intentionally vague. A fast paced fighting game with this kind of music would be hecka trippy though for sure.
