Explain your hypothetical game concept & how you interpreted the theme!
I wrote an Overture style piece - the middle section features a whole tone motif and chords centred around the whole tone scale to fit the challenge. I was picturing the hero exploring different parts of the map for this, with a grand opening that could depict open fields or a beautiful scene, contrasted with a more cave-y, dark middle section! Different scenes along the Hero's Journey.
What genre is your soundtrack?
I'm not sure! There's definitely classical elements, but it's a little more electronic than that. I'll leave it up to you guys:)
Anything else you'd like to add?
This is my first jam and my first time writing for video game soundtrack - I had lots of fun, but would love any feedback that people want to share ! <3

Nice work! I love the composition. Also, genius making an overture for this jam; what a concise way to get a flurry of ideas in a single track. Lots of work though haha.
only thing I can think is to play with some effects maybe? I think the piano could use some reverb/delay. In the mid section where it’s all spooky. I think a lot of the transitions and different sections can be characterized with more separation, and FX might be the way to go. Composition is so strong that you really want to highlight it.
Thank you so so much! I definitely will have some fun playing around with effects (that's fun feedback haha). I felt like I wanted to have lots of different tracks but I was worried I'd run out of time which is why I opted for the Overture, and I'm glad I did!
One big melodic mini-symphony ...
Seriously, the piano in this track literally sings!
Beautiful combination of everything and anything (Especially jazz. Jazz is good everywhere. JAZZ), successful division into different “emotional parts”. Love the moment at 3:35 for..... it's so cartoonish and exciting, like-I need to find something....
...and the final part evokes a sense of nostalgia..... Synthesizer version of Slime Rancher?)
Thanks for the composition, it came out really cool :>
haha many many a 7 chord were used to give some jazz I'm glad you enjoyed;) thanks for your lovely feedback I really really appreciate it!!
This piano intro is beautiful 💯
Very epic and lovely! Really like how the mood shifted throughout the piece, it definitely evoked what you described in your concept.
Thanks so so much! :)
Nice work on this! I liked the different harmonic ideas you put together and the modulation at the end was really satisfying. Also you did a good job giving the song breathers with rests. It added to the authenticity of the song and introducing the hero in a real way!
One thing I would suggest is playing more with the stereo field (panning). I think it could add more engagement to the already phenomenal piece!
also forgot to mention but Logic Pro gang!
Thanks so much fellow Logic Pro Pal !!! I definitely will play around with some panning and do some investigating:)
Beautiful piano intro. Like the key change at 0:22.
Second part nicely builds upon the motiff established in the intro, though the pads may be a bit loud... they kind of compete with the piano around 1:10 (also, IMO the piano phrase at 1:08 would've been a good opportunity for a dramatic crescendo). Nice tension and resolution into another key around 1:19.
Third section has a fun sneaking around vibe. I like the call and response between the bass and piano. Mallets and strings provide tension, particularly the dissonance around 2:50. The percussion coming in at 3:34 is a dramatic moment and immediately lends urgency to the piece. I like the broken up variation of the main motiff around 3:49. Very interesting, unexpected pitch modulation at 4:06.
Ending section is a nice callback to the second section with added percussion. Works well. Good job, a very enjoyable piece! If I were to take issue with anything, it would be that the song changed from one section to the next with little/no transition. Yes, it's an overture, but a transitional phrase or measure would've gone a long way towards leading the listener to the next part. Alternatively, breaking the song into separate songs would've worked well.
Thank you so so so much for your feedback! I really appreciate it:)
Sounds great! especially for a first jam.
Thank you !!! <3
