Nice short game and very interesting concept!

Maybe it would be even better to give more statistics, e.g., results at "Stayed with the choice" and "Changed door", then interesting ratios should arise over time, which illustrate the monty hall problem even more :)

Developer

Hello! Thanks for playing :)

Adding statistics is a cool idea, thanks for it too!

I have never seen a game implemented in lisp. Good job! :D I like the simplicity and the music.

This also shows very well how much overhead we produce when using game engines for creating simple games.

Btw the windows version did not run on my machine, then I tried the linux version which worked just fine.

Hello, thanks for your comment.

About windows version: I'm not sure what's wrong, I'm still testing it. Probably I know what the problem is - you need to delete opengl.dll file that is inside the folder. I can't be sure though, but I'll update the .zip after the jam ends.

About lisp: don't judge the lisp planet by mine game, I'm just starting :) Kandria might be a much more interesting example.

Anyway, thanks for playing :)

I see how it sticks to the them but I find the art could better communicates the goal and the gameplay. But the idea of fighting against odds to help our plants could be extended

Developer

Hello! Thanks for your comment. I know that art and gameplay are not best, but I didn't have much time to work on them. Still, thanks for pointing it out :)

Unique concept, very comfy music. Would be nice to expand the gameplay, maybe with some more puzzles 馃

Developer

Thanks for you feedback! I'm especially glad to hear that you liked the music :)

Wonderful demonstration of the Monty Hall problem! I switched door every time and it took me 17 cycles to win :)

Developer

Thanks for such a positive comment :)

Unfortunately, I dont have a device to try this game but from one single screenshot, I could tell that it looks like an interesting concept. I wonder if is it possible for you to upload a gameplay video or webgl build on your page?

Developer (1 edit)

Hello! Honestly, there is no much game to it other than that screenshot :)

I'm not sure that it is not doable to make a build for webgl, but that won't be easy.

Do you have windows on your machine? In this case there is a windows build (I forgot to mark it as windows one though.) If you're unable to run it, probably you don't have OpenGL 3 support, in this case you can either update your drivers or download Mesa3d build for windows and place .dll file in the game folder.

I think I can make one for mac too, if this is the case, please tell me - I'll give it a try :)

Mac would be great, unfortantely my windows one is wont be with me for a while. But if it is to much trouble for you to do, I will try to find a windows one.

Developer (1 edit)

Hey there! I think I have a build for mac. Can't be sure though.

You can find it here https://github.com/Gleefre/waterdoor/actions/runs/3473009220 (as an artifact in the bottom of the page). You will need to unzip it twice.

Or you can find a once zipped file here: https://filebin.net/sj2b7ecmchb3zzg8 .

You will need an OpenGL 3 support probably, since I wasn't able (yet) to ship it.

Please, tell me if you are able to run it :)

Rather interesting idea, but it could be better if there was more than one mathematics fun fact. Also it would be nice to see our plants grow when we win as a reward.

Hello! Thanks for your feedback :) Unfortunately I didn't have much time to work on my game, so I have gone with a simplest idea possible.

I like the idea of plants growing, maybe I'll try to implement it!
