I loved that you added animation and a short story. The gameplay is fun but the height of the player is confusing as we dig 2*2 blocks and the character is 2.5 blocks of height. Also the "life" goes down to fast for me. But still a great idea and the indestructible blocs are a great mechanic
Nice storytelling and lovely graphics in the cut scenes! Really cool idea.
Maybe you should give the player some time at the start of a level to orientate himself (e.g., it would be good if time didn't run before the first player action). Sometimes I didn't hit all the small blocks in the moving direction while digging, and the player stuck on them, which could be a bit annoying.
I was disappointed first because in the first level, you are looking for your toxic ex all around, but once I got from level to level had a nice "Aha!" moment while following the story!
I like the original game design, though I would make the blocks a little bigger next time so that the protagonist does not stop at every small forgotten obstacle.
Graphics and sound were likeable, as were the cutscenes.
I was not able to move with WASD (I have a German keyboard, but I'm not sure whether this had an impact), but with arrow keys the game went on nicely.
Keep going an much luck in future projects!
I absolutely love it!! At first, I thought it will be only this one level were the guy drowns himself in wine, but then it just kept going! :D I was totally surprised by this funny story and the amazing drawings! Really excellent submission!
Thanks for your nice comment, it means a lot to us ^^
The main Menu Is awesome, the game is a nice take of controls, I think if the moviment of the player was in WASD is way easier to play the game, cool ideia overall
I liked it :)
A very fun game. I enjoyed it.
Loved the story and the art!
I find the game a little too fast paced but I had fun!
Increasing the time available and the size of the blocks would be great in my opinion.
Thanks for the feedback and we're glad that you enjoyed ! About the pacing, we indeed plan to discuss and experiment further into it ^^
This is great! It was actually quite fun to play, and the theme was really interesting and fitting. I loved how it went through the different stages of coping with a breakup, indulging into alcohol, food, getting violent, getting jealous, and then ultimately finding comfort.
The gameplay was simple but effective. It was a little challenging, but it wasn't frustratingly so. The way the story was told and how the levels changed was also quite satisfying. Good stuff!
Thanks a lot for your detailed comment, we are glad you liked it!
Really fun to play, great job ! But damn it's not an easy one.
Thank you for your comment, and yes haha I find it super hard to balance a game in such a short amount of time ^^' Did you still manage to finish it ?
Definitely hard to balance for sure but it does add a litte ego challenge on it :)
No I failed at level 4 or 5 I think but after testing the other games I will come back on yours to try that for sure
Haha I get that. And that's nice, the 4th is the last one before the end!
Controls:
-Use the arrows to move (or ZQSD if you're french)
-Use Up to jump
-Use your mouse to dig (next to the character)
The colored cone next to you is a radar pointing to the nearest source of comfort
To survive, you must constantly search for comfort to refill your "comfort gauge".
The goal is to find the the path to the next level!
IMPORTANT BUGS :
-at the end of the level with burgers and cakes you will have to wait 15 seconds for the next level to load (missing cutscene)
- on level 5 you will spawn at the end and skip it directly...
