In my opinion, a perfect submission!

The fact that your companion moves slower and gets scared is really cool and adds an unexpected depth to the game. I died 5-6 times before developping a strategy that worked for at least 5 minutes. And it was fun!

An ending would be absolute perfection! Congratulations!

Great game! I don't understand the point of forcing a player to constantly press "E" to pick up items, I guess it could be better to make it an automatic function

Great games ! I loved the idea of having a friend and having to confort him. The art is great and intelligible.

I think the gameplay could be balaced a bit more but great game !

I like the game and its design. I especially like the fact that you don't have to increase your comfort, but the comfort of your partner. It took me a few tries not to lose right away, but then it was fun.

The game still needs a little balancing though maybe more wood or more time, and a goal would be really cool.

I like the concept a lot. Taking care of your little buddy is a nice idea to fulfill the theme. The graphics, music and sound effects were enjoyable as well.

I wish my little companion would move a little faster because I want to gather resources up front so that they feel comfy, but they are dragging behind, leaving them in the darkness. If I move slower to be close to them, it feels like I can't collect enough to provide safety. So either way, I did not get very far in the game.

Overall, great idea and concept which might get developed further. Currently, I'd suggest balancing it to make it easier, so that more people can enjoy it.

Thanks for the feedback.

You can leave the companion at a campfire (using spacebar), which gives you some time to hunt for resources. The spawnrate of items was increased, there's a build of it on GitHub, but unfortunately it was too late to submit it to the jam :/

Very cool Game, art and concept!

This is honestly one of our favorite entries for this jam.

we like the gameplay, it feels like it has a lot of potential depth.

And the art is perfect too.

Our only real problem with it, is the fixed camera.

Maybe, i'm wrong, but i think the urgency would still be present with a free camera thanks to The Darkness on the left, and maybe this would allow the scavenging to be even more enjoyable.

Right now the player isn't rewarded for going fast because we cant see what's ahead and it feels like this goes against the rule that we can't fool around because we're chased.

Woah this is great!

The core gameplay loop is really engaging when you get into it. I like how you have to provide comfort not to yourself but to your companion, making the gameplay a little less egocentric and more challenging. The fact that you have multiple affordances to comfort your companion also works really well, as you have to think about different strategies at once.

The graphics are also really cool, good pixel art + the lighting makes it fun to explore. The UI elements are also really well done. One thing overall that could've made this game instantly more enjoyable is having some sort of score identifier so that you could compete with yourself in a way.

Generally an awesome submission!

Thank you for the in-depth feedback!

A score system (along with some balancing) was added (it's on GitHub) some 5 minutes after submissions were over.

I like it, it runs smoothly, it has nice music. It is hard, that's true. :)

Gameplay core too enjoy, but a little hard. It's really perfect.

Thanks for your feedback馃槃 We didn't have a lot of time to test and balance the game.

We have a few tweaks on GitHub that were done after the GameJam ended. We plan on updating the itch.io page once the voting is over.

Same thing. We have a hotfix, but can change exe now.
