Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
Yes

Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
Yes

Summarise your game!
Deep below the earth, you awake as a long forgotten experimental lifeform designed to control water in all its forms: liquid, ice, and steam. The scientists who created you are long gone... Use your powers to find a way out.

It is a 2D puzzle-platformer.

Use A and D to move left and right.
Use Space for jumping.
When next to a "breakable" block, click it with LMB and destroy it.
Press Escape to open a menu and reset the level or choose another one.
Have in mind that some things will change, when turning into a different state :)

Please explain how your game fits the theme:
Being a weapon mostly means "destroying".
What would be more fitting than being able to destroy blocks by yourself?

Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
This is my very first game. Getting any feedback already would be nice! :D

I really love the concept and the thought that went into the mechanics – it has such a unique vibe. Perhaps some more "oomph" particles and such would be fitting too. The middle levels felt like they could’ve benefited from a little more time and polish, especially in terms of level design, but overall splendid jam game!

Many thanks! Yes, I agree particles would be nice for overall art design here. I am still a newbie in game development and will try that in the future! Due to time constraints (and myself being not able to set priorities) I did not manage to provide more detailed levels, but I consider to do that in the future :)

very cool game, I loved the tutorial and it was a great way to introduce the player to the mechanics, also the bg music was great! I though the puzzles were creative and it was a lot of fun to think through. encounter a bug where i would punch the stones and id get trapped in a walk animation and couldnt move anymore.

Developer

Many thanks!
Yes, I encountered this bug as well, but I still don't know what is going on here. I used a state machine and probably it is about how I change the states here...

Thank you for the feedback!

Pretty good idea and execution! I got a little impatient waiting for tutorial windows to go away so I could advance. I was expecting the steam to recharge it's full flight duration after touching the ground but it doesn't. Really good job tho!

Developer

Haha, I can relate. I guess a better way for this would be to enable the player to do everything while the tutorial boxes are running, but restricting possible interactions etc. It was supposed to be like that, regarding the steam. But you are right: It would be better getting a recharge after touching the ground!
Many thanks for your comment :)

Thats a really cool idea, I like the vibe and thought behind the mechanics.

I feel like the middle levels mainly were a bit rushed, I think it could have used a bit more time on the level design but considering it is your first jam and game you did a splendid job and should be proud!!

Developer

You are totally right! I was focusing on creating the mechanics and assets and then was rushing with level creation... Many thanks for the feedback!
