17450 first score....i really like the idea of this game, it plays quite well.

SHIFT was down the whole time...lol.

I like the indicators for each gnome so you know where they are, the white arrow colour change and size change if they are in danger nice telegraphing keeping the player up to date... takes a while to figure out, but its there...nice work. Some nice details....

Are you going to keep going?....love the characters eyes..

I'm not going to continue on the project since the code is kind of falling apart and it's a hastle to work with. I haven't made a game in a while so I favored the quick and easy solutions instead of mulling over how to structure it for the long run since that would have slowed me down on getting a game out.

I've reflected on what worked well and what was missing with the game and decided that I should shift focus to quality over quantity. I'll be moving on to working on simpler and quicker game projects to try some things out like improving game feel.

Game was fun towards the end but maybe started out a bit too slow. I think one thing you could add post jam would be maybe a mini map. That way the player can strategize their path better to protect the gnomes. Also rather then the clock counting up forever, I would make the grass more aggressive and count down from 5min or something to reach a win state. I really liked the little polish details like the sound the lawn mower changed based on speed, the trail effect of the character, the little arrows on the edge of the screen. Well done!

This was really fun!! The difficulty curve was really solid. My only wish would have been an option for mouse locking as my cursor kept leaving the game window frame ( I have 2 monitors. haha). Overall though it was really cool! Simple, to the point, and most importantly fun! :D

that was fun

I wish I had a lawn mower

Quite fun little game! I there weren't any settings for the audio that I could find. I was able to hear some audio faintly though. It would be nice to track and see which Gnomes were in danger, but I really like the little dude using his lawn mowing machine to protect them from the weeds! Fun!

I enjoyed playing the game! I thought it was very much on point with the theme, double points for that.

Here are my notes I jotted down from playing:

  • Don't think the music was working? Or maybe there wasn't enough time to implement.
  • A tutorial or instructions would have been nice at the start
  • Mouse cursor too small. Sometimes I lose track of it.

Thanks for the feedback! I burnt out before I could implement music and sound effects which is why the game is so silent😅. I challenged myself to try to do as much of the assets as possible on my own but sound and music was way harder than I thought so I decided not to stress myself out with it since I had already done so much.

Well done. I totally understand. I only streamed the development of my game jam and tracked all my time.  It took me 64.5 hours to do my game jam, and ~42% was on the Polish stuff.
