Judge feedback

Judge feedback is anonymous.

  • The game has some playability issues as you mention on the page yourself, however the game is very fun and addicting and the aesthetics are on point. This has a lot of potential to be a good arcade game when the performance issues and bugs are ironed out.

Did you include your Game Design Document in your downloadable files?

**KNOWN ISSUES**
On the windows build there is a weird bug with mouse-deltas wherein if you go to the settings screen and return to the play screen the mouse will get clamped at certain parts. If you have 2 monitors you only need to move your mouse the other screen to fix this, however if not, you can click to the settings screen and exit it without moving the mouse and you should be given enough room to navigate to the play button, exit button, etc. Sorry! This was an oversight I didn't notice during play testing. :(

**HTML5**
Here is a link to the html5 build of the game. This mouse issue is not a problem for the html5 build but the game will run slightly worse.

**ABOUT**
A physics based bullet hell where you must shoot down the ideas of a brain as it attempts to annihilate you.

Did you remember to include your Game Design Document?
Yes

Is your game set to Public so we can see it?
Yes

Extra Notes
I wasn't able to spend the entire 2 weeks on this project as I started and abandoned a few ideas before landing on this one, so it is a bit short, but I tried to make sure it was highly polished and a bit challenging to help make the gameplay engaging.

lmao this game was a trip.

loved how animated everything was.

banger music too.

loved the auto-fire as well.

no idea what was going on other then shoot, collect health, don't die.

was good enough to win apparently.

Thanks so much! Yeah, it's a very short game. Haha. I tried to make it more forgiving since itw so hectic, but I may have nerfed the difficulty a bit too hard. Haha.

Thanks for playing!! :)

Games cool. I've been wanting to play it since you posted about it. Game feels cool, idk if I bugged or what but I didn't have to fire, I could just zip across the screen and zap all the thoughts. But it felt like a blast. Nice music and sprites. I need a little guy in my brain to help me manage scope creep. Ha! Loved the ending. Felt like Ending of super smash bros or something where you're shooting the credits. Very nice

Developer

Thank you so much! Yeah, it is intentional to have auto fire. No need to make players hold down a button. Haha. Thanks for playing!! :D

Beat with 3 hearts to spare. The different phases pace the game well. Pleasing color scheme. I love the whole "idea" theme with everything, it's cohesive. Music is great, except there's one part where the melody sounds drunk lol.

Ok  so the difficulty curve is weird, it seems that when you have 1 wide bullet the game is the hardest, harder when the brain falls asleep, but then kind of gets easier for the rest  due to having wider shots, at least that's what I've found.

The mouse controls seem to get really bad when testing on slow hardware, unplayable as if it records your inputs and plays them back whenever you move the mouse, and it gets worse and worse. Playing in a small window becomes weird as the player can get desynched from the windows cursor even at 1x sensitivity. I had to play using WASD.

Game felt a little short, and the boss got a little same-y until it split into 2 halves that part was pretty cool. But still, no projectiles are added after the Z's so it can get a little stale even for the shortness of the whole game.

Just a few gripes, on the whole I loved it. Great work.

Developer

Thank you so much! Yeah the boss was not quite what I wanted but ran out of time unfortunately (I originally wanted 5 unique and distinctive phases instead of 3 variant phases. haha).

The controls absolutely need an update! Originally it was only mouse, but I added the option for WASD last minute and messed up my whole input design. lol. Happens I guess. haha.

Thank you so much for the thorough feedback! :D I will definitely keep this comment bookmarked for when / if I pursue the project further! :D

I'll wait until all the downloads have been scanned by the team to play these windows downloads but the art style looks great! The gameplay looks very fun too! Great job!

Developer(+1)

There is an HTML5 build as well here but I would definitely recommend waiting until the windows version is vetted and verified. Since it is a pretty crazy bullet hell HTML5 can get really laggy once things get crazy. haha

This game had me speechless! the blood-pumping music, the tight gameplay, the super satisfying sound design. Just wow. Fantastic work!

Developer(+1)

Wow!! Thank you so much for the kind words!! :D

Talk about polish! What a solid game, very well put together. I have the reflexes of a wooden plank, so I greatly appreciated the player HP setting. Trying again is so smooth and quick, it's hard to stop trying. Excellent game!

Developer

I'm glad it isn't too hard for people! I wanted it to feel more like chaotic destruction over a grind-y rage game. haha. Thanks so much for playing!! :D

Amazing, very smooth and love the continuation when you die that you continue where you left of more or less and that the play button float away the same as rest of the game.

Great job!

Developer

Haha thanks so much! Yeah, I wanted everything to be really fluid, even between boss stages (which I didn't get a chance to add any more of. Haha)

Thanks so much again for playing! :D

Nice one! Very well polished between the art, music, and controls.
Extra props for adding interactive end credits and a settings page.

That was so fun! Everything fit together so well from the soundtrack to the art/animations which are just OOZING with style to the gameplay itself. I wish there was more I could play. One hell of a bullet hell and a fantastic submission. Gratz on getting this done dude!

Really fun game! Lots of juice and polish, and the soundtrack is great.

Hype. Did not read the description before playing, so diving straight into the game was a sick. Very fun gameplay, and the style has a lot of character. Very impressive!
