  • The game plays well and seems to be well scoped. There is an impressive amount of art produced and I really like the style of the "cutscene" text screens. The game could do with adding more mechanics and to expand its scope if you can afford the time/people budget. I think highlighting where you can switch to different rooms would be useful and perhaps focusing on less screens but with more interactivity, animations etc. could make the game more engaging.

This was such a powerful little story, told very well. Tackling shadows and alchemy head on, with grace. "Do not let the fear of snow ruin the joy of leaves." It reminded me a lot of  the story of Gilgamesh.  And, to a degree, the book of Ecclesiastes. Fantastic writing. And an excellent atmosphere/mood, helped by great sound design, gripped me from the start, even though I'm normally not a fan of point and click games. Excellent job!

Your game was very neat with a nice little narrative.  Always enjoy a point-and-click adventure.

Nice game you've made here, the story and art are really nice, draw me into the story quite a lot. Good job! Sadly, I think I've also encountered the soft lock during the fourth puzzle and was unable to progress from there. Would really want to see what's behind that though.

Anyway, nice work!

I like the visual novel style gameplay. It looked well done as well however the size issue of the screen made it almost impossible to see it all in my browser with out going Fullscreen which isn't a "fix" it should be screen sized correctly for optimal playing. Also for some reason all I could click on  was the stairs so unsure if other stuff was supposed to be able to be clicked but it wasn't working for me.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! While in the hallway the stairs will bring you back to the bedroom and the bottom of the screen brings you to the kitchen.

We had some issues scaling the screen, first time using HTML export and "play in in browser" but we're looking into it for future jams or potential updates!

This game looks BEAUTIFUL! Love seeing a good old point and click in this game jam :)

Really well done all the mechanics works flawlessly, I wish there was a bit more use for the objects that weren't in the potion but 2 weeks is 2 weeks hahaha

Keep this going, I'd love to see a full game in this style!

Developer

Thank you so much! I normally avoid drawing backgrounds like the plague so it was a marathon😅 We had a lot of fun with this one and it really showed in the progress between our last game jam submission to this one.
