What Game Segment is this Theme For?
Description
Hello everyone, I am very excited to contribute something to a music jam for the first time. Really looking forward to hear all the music that was created for this jam as soon as the submission period has ended.
My submission was originally planned to more closely resemble the very minimalist piano driven style of some of the C418 tracks of the original Alpha and Beta soundtracks. Over time it evolved into a more synth-heavy atmospheric ambient piece. For me it still has a flavour of the Minecraft soundtrack catalogue for creating an atmosphere that is right in the spot between laid-back and adventurous. I chose to submit the track for the "Caves" category of the soundpack, due to the reverberating synths giving the impression of large underground spaces and the sparse percussive elements reminding me of mining sounds.

Very cool ! Great work. Perfect balance beetween what I guess is your style and C418 style.
I loved it!! You really proposed an interesting mood for the caves. Although it generates a certain calm, due to the sounds you chose and the arrangement, it invites you to explore and be expectant of something. I can definitely hear some C418 influence in you composition. Great job!
I like this balance that you have maintained between organic and electronic elements for this track! It definitely feels reminiscent of C418 while being original in itself. Keep it up!
What a good vibe man, well done.
Cool track, I like that you changed instrumentation and keep build up to a certain point, it keeps stuff interesting. Good job.
This track could totally play while exploring caves. I’ve recently been playing a mod pack that contains a mod named “Galosphere”, which has its own cave soundtrack, and this could definitely sit alongside them! If I heard this track while caving, I’d stop to find where it’s coming from and who made it. My only criticism is that the chord pattern starts to feel repetitive, but in the context of background music, I suppose that might just be a good thing.
Thank you very much for your feedback :)
I agree that the track is a bit more on the repetitive side. I tried to counteract this by throwing in new ideas every 4-8 measures and mixing even and odd numbers of repetitions for melodic themes etc. For my taste, especially due to its short length it still works fine as an unintrusive background/soundtrack piece, but that of course is a matter of personal taste :)
Loved it! Very well done
Thank you :)
