I really like the concept. :D

My only problem is that it's not really spooky. (For me, at least.) Right off the bat, it just feels like a lot of random clicking and there's not a lot of dependability on sound as there should be for an echolocation game. HOWEVER, I do like the art style.

Great job on that. :)

Good concept, sadly it was too tedious to navigate, maybe add some sort of save system where the interactable buttons to move between rooms are always revealed after being discovered, and keep some events to happen only one time, like the purple eyes on the mirror, so i don't see that again if i leave and come back to make it more misterious.

he held me captive in a dark basement and made me make music for the game, its really good though!

The concept is cool, but right now it's just a point-and-click where you have to right click all the time to see, and the echolocation is extremely tedious to use. I like the aesthetics though !

The art and aesthetics are really nice :)

Mechanically, the echo location seems cool on paper, but to me, it felt like an annoying-to-use flashlight. Like, I think I would have enjoyed the game much more if there was just a static light around wherever the cursor was pointing at, so I could engage with the environmental puzzles more conveniently. (though then it wouldn't fit the jam's theme lol)

I really like aesthetic of the hand drawn environments getting partially revealed. I also really liked how it fit with the theme. I also really enjoyed the sound effects. I feel like the meshed really well with the echo theme and helped create an uneasy feeling when exploring a new room.

Sometimes I feel it was annoying to try to find the back button in some rooms. Like I'd forget where it was and have to look for it again.

Thanks for the feedback, I'm glad you liked it!!

uhh i got stuck on the mirror i think i dont know how to go back am i dumb

Developer(+1)

On every screen there is a back/return arrow that is circled. On the mirror screen it is in the top right corner of the mirror below the text. :)

So on point with the theme!

Love the audio and the art style, and you've leveraged the theme so well!

Unfortunately I got stuck right at the start so can't give more detailed feedback. I think it could be really handy to have visual clues about what can be clicked and what can't. If you could add a couple hints in the comments/description (for now) I'd be happy to try it out again and see how it plays to the end, it looks really promising!

Do feel free to check out our submission Reverb and let us know what you think! https://itch.io/jam/pjp-game-jam-2023-1/rate/2079583

Sorry to hear you got stuck, I definitely could have made it more clear what was interactable and what wasn't! I'll be posting some hints/known bugs here soon but if you need specific help with something feel free to respond to this message.

Glad you liked it and thanks for the feedback!

Had the pleasure of watching the creator stream this Game Jam, and am so excited to have gotten to play the final product! Good horror games in my opinion are unpredictable and don't rely on jumpscares solely to create the environment or tension, and this is exactly what Echo Chamber does so well!

Short and sweet, leaves you thinking about the story about why you're here. Seriously such a lovely short play.

Hey i know you :3

This game is absolutely amazing! I have never seen a more perfect implementation of the theme than this. Giving it a horror twist is a stroke of genius, and I just love it to bits!

so uhhhh I guess ill start cirtical, uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh-

oh i got something lol okok.

Now, let's address the negatives first. Some parts of the game were a bit confusing, particularly the ball puzzle at the beginning. It could benefit from a clearer explanation or guidance so that players can connect the dots more easily. Additionally, perhaps adding one or two more spooky moments could enhance the overall experience. (spooooooooooky o.o)

Moving on to the positive aspects, everything else is simply outstanding! The art style is simple yet perfectly crafted, creating an immersive atmosphere. The point-and-click escape room gameplay is both fun and challenging, keeping players engaged throughout. I must say, some moments in the game were genuinely creepy, especially that mirror scene. It sent shivers down my spine! (idk man those two white dot eyes kinda just- spooked me o.o)

Overall, I consider this game to be one of the best submissions I've come across. The attention to detail and the impressive execution make it stand out. Amazing work, my friend! You should be proud of what you've accomplished

Abababababa I'm so glad you liked it! I wanted to add more scary stuff but unfortunately ran out of time! I even had a whole monster design! I might work on fixing and finishing the game in the future! Thanks for playing!

So sorry to hear you got stuck! Unfortunately there are tons of bugs that make you stuck so it's completely understandable!
