The idea for the JAM theme is very good, and the game has a solid progression system. I like that it has a strategic component where you have to wait to use the boost to advance. I think it would be even better if it had more animations, for example in the environment, and more music. Greetings!

Thank you! I'm rather new to pixel art and so didn't have the time to add animations for things like the fire, I was hoping to add some interest to the background and had some sprites for it but didnt manage to get it to look good, just not got the experience yet.

you need to add some animations but cool game check out mine too thank you

Yea I ran out of time

I really like how you implemented the jetpack here, the 'boost' mechanic is esp fun to use, The main thing bothering me is the sfx---the death sound in particular is particulary jarring. However, still quite enjoyed the game overall. Good work!

Developer

Thank you! Yea the sfx were added last minute and I have no experience making sounds so wasn't very happy with the result.

I liked the skin of the main character, he looks like a robot with a jetpakc heheh
The controls work fine and the boost really makes you enjoy the gameplay. My suggestion is to try to make some extra level designs, but for a gamejam this is a pretty solid and good game, congrats! (My time: 1:34)
If you could also see my game, i would appreciate that :D

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! Glad you enjoyed it, looking forward to trying your game out

The game idea is good, but the gameplay and character feel a little janky to control. The game is still pretty good for the time frame though.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback, this was my first game made with godot so I didn't have as much time as I'd have liked to test and tweak.

The level design of the game is nice and I like the animations that were implemented. Couldn't really understand what the overheat bar did tho.

Developer

Thank you! The overheat bar increases as you jump and use boost limiting their use. Forgot to explain that in description/tutorial. Probably should have tweaked it to be more influential too

Nice game!
I like simple pixel art graphics, especially this jetpack boost and feeling it gives with shift combination.

Developer

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed :)
