Love this game. Feels really smooth when you drive the car and I like that I need to watch out for the heat in addition to driving. One wish is that you could control the camera, because it sometimes starts looking down on the car from above. Anyway, I like the radio, which has very nice music and the sound effects are good too. The levels are also well made and good job on adding the "high speed outline effect" (I do not know what to call it). Great job on the game!
Very cool entry!
I really liked the gameplay and the way you implemented the theme here. However, at times I felt like the car was a bit too floaty. At times I felt like the car would fly way more than it needed to if I hit a bump, and sometimes even if the road had just a small bump. At one point I pressed S to brake and the whole car flipped over pretty badly lol! I think this could maybe be an issue with the car's mass and where the center of gravity is, maybe if you increased the mass and lowered the center of gravity it a bit more you could get the car to stick a bit better to the road. Also for the braking maybe you need to directly decrease the velocity instead of applying a force (idk if that was what you did but that's what it felt like to me because of the flip). Other than that, I felt it was pretty intuitive and felt good to control.
Themewise, I think it was a very clever way to do it, congrats!
In terms of aesthetics, I feel like the game looks very good, no complaints here.
I think the music is a bit too laid back for the kind of speed you reach. I didn't play multiplayer, but I feel like it would definitely feel a bit more odd there, since you're trying to be as fast as possible. I'd recommend using a faster, more upbeat track, but that's just me! The engine sounds were very well handled.
I enjoyed it, keep up the good work!
Thank you! Did you ever play around with the radio? If you press R, you can change the radio station.
Oh! No, I didn't, that completely flew over my head! Nvm that last piece of feedback!
I love the idea for the game. The whole game looks really cute! Tho the car's really janky to control.
Cool game. We had a similar idea about linking speed to a heat bar but end up with very different game. The smoke coming out of the engine when it is too hot and the music slowing down when you die are nice polishing touch. I am not sure that many poeple will be able to find a friend to test multiplayer but it is impressive that you managed to add it either way.
Amazing! I don’t know how you had time to make all of this and then also include multiplayer, this is insane! The gameplay is unique, it fits the theme, and even looks really cool. If you decide to update the game i’d suggest making some more improvement to the map, for example some decorations and stuff. Really good work though!
Thank you so much! It definitely was a stretch, but we are glad you enjoyed it, definitely would improve the maps and track in the future, as well as adding some more levels!
This game is amazing.
The fact that you managed to create multiple tracks with cool scenery, online multiplayer as well as good mechanics and several radio stations in only 3 days amazes me. This is (in my opinion) probably one of the best games in the jam tbh :)
Thanks so much!
couldn’t be more theme fitting, knocked out of the park
the driving is a 6-7/10 tbh, but the hood mechanic makes it pop off so much
not to mention multiplayer on top of it
but I see your studio is “remote game studios” I guess that explains how you pull this off
Thanks so much!
great movement and i really like the drif t mechanic
Thanks!
Good game rate mine too please
Great game. Also try my game pls
Really nice and unique take on the theme!
Thank you!
