The platforming is really smooth, and I like how more and more difficulty elements are introduced over time. The art is also really good, it's simple, but it's clear whoever made it has a solid understanding of lighting and color. I just wish the game had some more different levels and more of that cool minimalist art.

Huge fan of the movement system of this game, the controls in particular felt really nice. The neat details like the jump animation and the arrow at the bottom left really make the game feel more complete. Some suggestions: visually differentiate the moving platforms from the breaking platforms to make it easier for the player to decide what to do (it could also make the level look more varied, maybe make the breaking platform look like it has cracks from magma). I had a second suggestion but i forgot it while typing the first (sorry, adhd).
Oh, and I really love the idea of restarting the level with new obstacles each time. It really allows the players to polish their movement without making the level too same-y. I might steal that idea (respectfully) for the game I'm working on lmao. Really fun game, great job!
Thanks for this feedback! Short story, I spent on lootlocker trying to set up a leaderboard for basically a whole day and still did not manage to complete it :(, im not familiar with those type of things but maybe one day ill go back to it and try to set it up. Because of this i just reused the platforms and added a red tint lol. My sister who created the assets was also busy to make other assets after. I think (like someone else said) to change the player character from a white block to something that matches the vibe more, that might of been one of the suggestions?
Anyways., have a good day and hope you do well in the jam!
Nice background, and smooth controls, I like that the level overheats as you progress(same level but with more fire) I think this was a great interpretation, You probably know the criticism i would give, since there is an obvious square as the player in a world of lava. I am guessing you ran out of time, Great job anyways!
Good game design! Started off easy to get used to the controls and mechanics and slowly ramped up! Might have some holes in the death barriers. But overall nice job.
glad you made it past the dashboard drama, good choice to keep it simple for now
gameplay is simple but very responsive, I felt very in control of my character - always a good thing.
I like the direction you went for making the later loops actually harder, remember how it was so easy to go infinite in earlier versions. Actually died a few times in the walls of fire phase
it’s a short game that does one thing pretty well.
points of improvement:
- the camera is a bit too connected to the player, because of the zoomed in view and the movement speed, it can cause motion sickness (specially if you move left -> right -> left just a little bit real quick). suggestion is to add some easing and/or some region drag to smooth it out
- the sound for jumping is a bit too strong/dominant for how often it is played
haha I may try to set up the leaderboard but not today. Also i dont think i added a jumping sound effect? There isnt any for jumping as i couldnt find a decent one lol. i think you may be thinking about the breaking platforms thing. For that i had like 15 minutes to post until the deadline (not knowing there was gonna be an extra 1h lol) so i just rushed all the sounds. thanks for all the feedback 🤩
Pretty cool. I liked the controls and the wall jump mechanic felt good. The only thing I would add would be to have the moving platform carry the player with it.
Nice game, great sound effects at sliding near wall, platforms, and i like how cube feels like it has air resistance :D
