Really loved the art and that title screen effect! Animations are super nice too. Wish there was some background music but maybe that's just me. I was a bit surprised to see people drown so fast but it made a great challenge, the difficulty is well calibrated I think ! Overall nice game :)
Sick game! Did you use shaders for the background? It looks nice!
Thanks. Yep it’s my first time though, I wanted* a water distortion effect
Hi! I played your game on stream on the Pygame Community Youtube channel. If you weren't in the stream, and wanted to check out my playthrough and opinions, there are timestamps in the description. Apologies for any audio cutting issues.
If someone drowns in your arms, you are unabled to pick people up anymore at all. Also, the left and right sides of the maps aren't bounded.
Your game is one on those that fit the theme perfectly, good job! I just love this parallax menu, it's a really nice touch. Is it normal that we can't grab people that are starting to drown or i'm doing something wrong?
Thank you ^^ That is a bug, I noticed after submitting 😔
Interesting concept. Although the game is modern looking, it reminds me of the old arcade games like Defender and Robotron where saving humans used to be a primary goal. Not a lot of games do this, specially in platformers. Also, nice art, although color combination could have been made better. Gameplay is also smooth enough. Good work overall.
Thanks, the artists did the textures without knowing about the shader. Also it’s my first time using shaders xd
