Super difficult, but it fits that old school difficult feel. The main menu is also really nice.

Very nice game. But it's not fare if enemy see me but I don't see him (only enemies displayed on screen should shoot)

Would have loved to see the extra mechanics you mentioned to give it that real Halo feel, to be able to bash a grunt on the head with the AR is sadly abscent. Nonetheless, one of the most impressive games I've seen submitted, you clearly put in a lot of work and it shows. A pleasure to look at, really great adaptations of the sound effects and music, all round very good stuff :D

Cool game and nice work in the mechanics.

Oh man, that is fun but extremely difficult! The sounds were pretty accurate and for how simple it is, it's very amazing it looks and works!

Really feels like one of the most authentic games I've played in this Jam. Definitely brought me back to the 16-bit era. It's pretty brutal but fun. The sounds were spot-on. Great job. My only complaint is it brought back nightmares of playing the SNES version of Jurassic Park...

Just awesome. I could have used a some re-spawn points, instead of instant game over death!

Great polish and scale!

Great work! :)

Well done! Looks very good! Got wrecked pretty fast though. :D

Looks amazing! I got wrecked fast tho, faster than the real online halo. Great job on the theme. If you have the time, then I'd love to hear your opinion on my game. Thanks!

Excellent retro remix of the X-Box classic. Nice work.

Very nicely done. The music, the weapons .. can you have nostalgia for something that didn't happen? Thanks for the game.

Hey, I had a blast while playing this, really great game! I just took a while to get used to the controllers playing in a keyboar, but that's maybe on me.

I award you 12 out of 5 stars for authenticity!  great, great stuff!  it's hard, though. I made it past the second crashed pelican and into the big pink building after three or so tries, but got stuck there (making me miss HALO's checkpoint autosaves but those wouldn't be very Genesis then would they!)

the name is great, because of the double entendre, it's for the Sega Genesis obviously but HALO: Genesis sounds like it could very well be the real name that 343/Bungie would use for a HALO spinoff or prequel!

it's an incredibly minor quibble but I feel like grunts are super tanky bullet sponges when you can't aim for the head. your experiment is a great success. I love that it has sensibly mapped manual reloading, something modern AAA shooters are STILL fucking up to this day. shooting feels awesome, very halo-ey!

a little bit more of a fault is that I wish there were health pickups, it doesn't seem like medkits would have been a difficult thing to add as powerups/pickups to restore some of your health bars

I bet I'll enjoy it even more when I come back later to play it with a game pad, keyboard was a little awkward.

Beautiful artwork it looks just like a Genisis game. The main thing I would suggest is changing the color of the obstacle (rocks and trees)  they blend a bit too much into the terrain so I keep walking into them thinking that they're just ground. I also reached the end of the level I think (top left of the map where a flashing line was) it looked like the line would area to the next level or ending the game but nothing happened when I approached it, maybe I did something wrong. Either way, great work! Keep it up!
