What was the origin story?
While there are many improvements to be made, i'm happy about the final game so far

Grombdoll eyes! I used the Grombdoll assets in my game too (۞_۞) lol

This was a really nice game, both relaxing and difficult at the same time (I am famously terrible at platformers lol), sound design, mechanics, level design, were all really good and I really enjoyed this

(ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*✲゚*。⋆ good job!

Developer

Thanks dude :D

I had a lot of fun with this.

Definitely reminds me of my old flash days!

As mentioned, controls are a bit less intuitive. My favorite jump button is spacebar, personally - and in this case it would really help you hold down something for the controls.

I would do this:

Spacebar - jump

A/D - left and right

Mouse/click - point/shoot

Being able to aim I suppose would change the dynamic of the game, but would make it more fun to me, at least.

Developer

Aiming as a feature was something i messed around with, but i'm not sure if it could really fit, as it would probably break the level balance (from all the precise spots, though i might be able to remedy some bits with limited ammo and some arrow only/player only walls. It would make the game more about precision shooting, though that would be quite interesting)

I've added some alternative keys in a new build, for arrow key and spacebar users, will submit it after the jam finishes :]

Not a bad start. I like bouncing the arrows, it adds a bit of challenge.

As others have said the bow shooting could be better, the puzzles you have are designed well for it, but idk.. it just doesn't feel right not being able to aim it. At the very least make the shoot button something other than S.

Developer

Ah, i'll add some alternative keys for S

Interesting fun game. But I think you need something else other than S for shooting. Makes jumping and then shooting difficult. I would also make it so that you can change angle with the bow by using your mouse. Then LMB is to fire. You can then map this to a controller. At least I kind of expect this if you have a game that has something that typically needs to be aimed, like a bow. Like the aesthetics too!

Developer

Thanks!

I'd tried to use mouse for aiming, but I wasn't too sure how to get the character flipping right, also makes balancing the levels a bit tough :/

This was a fun game. I can’t wait to play more levels. I wasn’t able to get the first mushroom-bounce level to work without cheating. But I was able to do it on the next level. The soundtrack is nice and chill and the graphics/color scheme were very nice and consistent, too. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for rating and playing it :]

Looks super sweet! Also letting the arrows bounce on the mushrooms was *chef's kiss*

Developer

thank you ^^

Fun game, would be cool to have a charge up meter when pulling back the arrow to give more control on the range, and maybe you can aim the bow too. Great job!

Developer

I'll be sure to try implementing that after the jam, thanks :D

It is the game of all time. Great job Abyssal!
