Great mastery of piano composition. I love it!
You succeed in highlighting the melody with rich accompaniment and unexpected variations.
You can tell you've had fun composing.
This composition has a lot of awesome ideas, and I like how you really explored a variety of touches and velocities on your notes to create different moods. I think each idea is compelling and sounds really cool on its own, but the transitions and overall structure feels a bit disjointed to me. Maybe you could try to clarify the purpose of each section in the context of the entire composition. For example, the section from 1:00 to 1:40 is really subtle and beautiful and I like it a lot, but I'm not quite sure what it's aiming to do. Is it there to provide a contrasting atmosphere? Is it developing a previous theme? Where does it lead? Honing in on the aim of each of your sections might help better connect all of these cool ideas into an even more awesome composition. Just to clarify though, this already sounds really great, and I had a lot of fun listening to it, good job!
Thanks for the feedback! I see what you mean with the structure, its definitely a problem I've had with other songs. I saw that section starting at 1 minute as a development of the softer second theme in the first section - with a different emotion. Yet, looking back on it there wasn't really preparation for the sudden change in tone. Appreciate it
It's a playful jaunt through the woods. Maybe it was the picture of the forest that started the imagery, but I saw some Puck looking fay romping through the woods. There's a lot of motion and shifts in mood in there. It's a well coordinated harmony, too.
Damn! really liked the composition!
Even though it feels a bit too much or a bit too disorganised for me sometimes,
it still managed to fit into its place rightfully.
Keep on composing!
I liked how frantic it got at places but it ended really abruptly.
I didn't know how to end it so I just played some bombastic figures into the piano roll then edited it a bit. Thanks
