So first time I played this I completed it by luck! But after watching Kyle play it and seeing chat explain it to him it all made senses. It's a very cool idea to make a game based on a riddle. It get my mind going with ideas. Also the intro is sick. The images in GB style, it's like something from a dream. Well done on your entry.
P.S. Also, it's super kind of you to comment on so many games. You're always so nice and fine the best in everyone's work. I don't think anyone else has put in as much effort as you have in terms of feedback. The Jam is lucky to have you here!
I love your vision for this game! It’s amazing how you used the gameboy aesthetic to backdrop such an surreal and interesting game.
Very avant-garde. I really enjoyed my time with it and I think it’s a very memorable experience.
Reading the comments here, I'd agree: this is a weeeeird experimental game! I'm not exactly sure I knew what was going on but I was still compelled to keep searching and figuring things out. It was cool to stumble into the secret area, too. I've got a question, though: after winning the dice games against the skelly and ghost I get teleported to the final room. Is that supposed to happen?
Originally, this was each one was supposed have its own secret ending and other goodies. Each secret boss had it’s own dialogue to have a harder version of the dice game. Yet, after multiple permutations they none of them worked because the game engine could not handle the the extra game boards. So, in order to make the game playable, I had to route it to the final screen for this version.
It’s not a normal game. It’s about Jebb finding his way through the afterlife. Fate was not done with him, living this infinite loop of death and rebirth. While there is a “fight” with DSD, I didn’t want fighting in the game. I wanted knowledge to be the main way you fight. Sure the dice game is not as complicated as I wanted it but I am glad the dice were truly random and were rolling lol. Thanks for playing this! I really appreciate it.
Good to know! I had fun playing it!
Nice to see something experimental.
Thank you so much for playing it. I really appreciate you calling it experimental. Those were the vibes I was going for.
Finished it after a few tries. I'm not sure I saw everything, but it was definitely a cute little game with a neat aesthetic and some great artwork. Big Deadeus vibes.
It is a short game wit a few secrets to it. So, I am confident you got it all. I’m not the best at art so that all goes to LoaMcLoa. Never tried Deadeus but now I want to.
Cute game boy aesthetic, good to see Mucho being featured! I got a little lost also with the dice roll, but managed to guess the answer once to reach an ending. I seem to get stuck on a white screen when my life gets pruned and end up needing to refresh the webpage to try again.
Life pruned screen is on a button press or a 5 second timer. It should if it doesn’t automatically send you back home, a button press should do it but I’ll check it all again. Congrats on reaching the ending.
I think I might be confused on how the game works? I get to the dice roll, and then it asks me to pick a number, and then my life gets pruned and I have to restart. I did it four times and got the same result.
You are totally doing it right. The game is meant to be a loop. A sort of dream that you keep waking up from. The dice can be finicky at times, so that might be causing the confusion in relation to the answer to the problem. Just keep thinking, it will come to you.
