Really nice feeling game!
Wall slide is the killer feature here. As the other said with improved sprites this game would be very cool. Now it feels a bit like helping Mr. Trump flee his debts. ;)
Fun game! Got a best time of 3:44. There was one huge difficulty spike about halfway through that dragged the game down a bit, but the mechanics were well made enough to keep me going!
Like everyone said, loved the wall sliding mechanics, with improvement in 2D sprites, I think it would make a cool game.
Pretty cool controls. I like the wall sliding mechanic, reminds me of super meat boy. Fun game overall.
The wall sliding mechanic feels really nice! I felt like the difficulty scaled pretty well until the section where the number of laser squares (?) jumped up, but I don't know if that's just me. But, overall, it was a fun play!
Yeah, I realize the difficulty jumps quickly at one stage there. I wanted to scale the difficulty over a longer playtime but was getting close to the deadline and felt if I didn't increase the difficulty when I did the overall game could end up too easy overall so I opted to scale faster to ensure completing on time. It's something I intend to fix up if I get time to revisit the game.
I enjoyed the wall sliding and jumping. I like the protagonists design :)
There was a bug during one of my playthroughs where my character didn't respawn after dying on a laser mine/obstacle. justa heads up. A tiny recommendation; script the camera so it doesn't move every time you jump; only when he approaches the edge of the screen. Keep up the good work!
Nice game! I thought it was a nice twist on the usual "go up to escape lava". The wall sliding/jumping mechanic played nicely into this. Sometime the camera movement felt a bit too loose, and I think it would make it hard to play the game for a long time.
Its kinda hard for me but still fun. As for me, character is kinda too slow and i cant get into this flow. Also at one moment i died, but I didnt respawn and the game was stuck
Thanks for the feedback. Initially he did run faster but it made his jumping arc to long and hard to control and I didn't have time to come back and try adjusting it again due to the timeline, it's definitely something I'd like to adjust in the future if I get a chance to build the game up more. Not sure what happened with the re-spawning though, never had it happen to me and I ran the game a few times in play-testing, hopefully it was a one off bug.
