This was pretty cute + spooky :3 I managed to get quite far with the cleansing, but ultimately, the little dudes got me x3 The art is lovely.

I really appreciate the interactive tutorial at the beginning! I don't play that many games with keyboard controls, so it was a huge help :D

Very spooky and very well put together (screamed a bit haha)! While the ghost is slow and there isn't much you can do to escape the enemies unless there is an enemy-free corridor or mirror to hide in, it at least lets you strategize your timing. The randomized enemy spawning was mostly a problem when they showed up in spawn, but otherwise was a neat game all around! The music stuck in my head for sure and the graphics were clean and very charming! The little enemies were genuinely scary, especially when their eyes went red and they ran fast O_O

This is a really nice pixel game. Impressive sound design and anxiety-inducing enemies. A movement speed increase and checkpoints are what it mostly needs. I did end up spawning at the start with all the enemies there, evil spawn campers! Good job on this game, and I look forward to seeing more. :)

I cannot play the game because I get stuck on the first screen (which I think is a tutorial). Other people in the comments are having the same issue, but even with their help I cannot figure out how to play. In the tutorial screen, I can see no ghost character (or any other one), and nothing I do seems to have any effect. Even tried on two different browsers (Firefox and Chrome) to no effect.

All in all a really well built game! As others have pointed out, the main character is very slow. There's also just an awful lot of *waiting* for the coast to be clear. There's no way to avoid or outrun enemies other than to just not be around them, but that's not always in your control unless you wait for the perfect conditions. A death just before finishing a room is a crushing setback, because you have to make it all the way back there from the beginning, which can take anywhere from one or two minutes (just the slow move speed) up to nearly 10 minutes depending on what the patrols are doing along the way. The music loop was also a bit short (I've been done playing for 15 min but it's still going in my head). I love the aesthetics of the hotel, and those particles on the cursed objects look niiiice. Consider adding a bit of movement speed and a checkpoint system and this will be a really nice stealth game!

It’s a nice idea to have an interactive tutorial! I think though most people (like me) don’t expect it and thus get kind of stuck at the tutorial. Maybe you could add a hint that one should already play on the first screen.

  • The ghost is a bit slow for my taste
  • The teleportation like mechanic with the stairs and doors is nice

Thanks for making the game :)

How do you start the game?

I really liked the particle effects.

Am I crazy or is it not working?

I am not able to figure out how to start the game. Got stuck on the Help view.

Edit: figured it out. It’s an interactive tutorial, you need to already move the ghost to finish it. Then the real game starts.
