It was cool to play as a spooky squelchy creature :D I wasn't great at it, but that's partly down to the fact that I couldn't resist chomping people unnecessarily x3 hehe. If the aim was to gobble up as many folk as possible, I would win!

The aesthetics are pretty neat in this too + I'm loving that title screen! :3

The player, uh... character? is satisfyingly gross and splodgy looking, and the little dialogue snippets over the humans' heads was a nice touch, especially how it changes to reflect what's going on. I found the tension between wanting to be stealthy and needing to be fast a bit disorienting on my first run though, but it made sense more on the second time.

I really liked Sugar and Sinew! From a technical point of view, it is very well executed: visual style,  music and sound effects are excellent. The concept is very cool, and luring innocent victims to their doom feels especially satisfying!

403 seconds! A little hard to read the text, and therefore a bit hard to tell what state the trick or treaters are in (I wish you had a download so I could make it fullscreen and expand it to my screen's resolution), but the AI programming is very impressive! Nicely done!

Great idea with the reverse horror. It was fun releasing my monstreous god ^^ Thanks for making the game!

I really dug the idea of the game (I'm a sucker for reverse horror games - that's why batman is my favourite superhero) and your game, that doubles as a city sim, is really impressive. However, in terms of gameplay it was a bit lacklustre, making the elements not really come out as well as they maybe otherwise could have.

For example, floating around is a bit tedious, the distance between the altar and the targets is quite large when compared to the movement speed. Also, movement felt slightly weird (I think you tried to go with a floaty kinda movement mechanic where it doesn't stop directly when you press the button, but there's no slow-down effect to really give that feel).

Also, stalking and subduing your prey doesn't quite feel as cool as I think it could have. I miss the tension of luring someone into the bushes (making use of the bushes could've been really cool), pacifying them and then take them with as an offering, and I feel like that could have been improved with some more audiovisual and gameplay elements that would have added tension.

This is all despite the quality of the game, of course! I loved the visuals for one, they're cute and your lightning system works well. And, let's not forget, the AI thingie is also really really cool! It must've been quite difficult to even just make that, and that's a real nice thing on itself!

I just think that, despite the game looking really good, being creative and having an inventive mechanic, it lacks a little on the gameplay-feel-juice side of things. All things considered: great game, great idea and great visuals. More than enough reasons for anyone to play this entry, and more than enough reasons for the creators to be very proud of themselves :) I hope you enjoyed the jam.
Stay safe!
