While the game is obviously unfinished, what's there has really good potential. The character was clear and detailed despite being pixel art, and the gun felt satisfying to fire. The environmental storytelling equally had a lot of potential. Shame you didn't get it finished, it would have been fun to play more, but that's how jams go sometimes.
Thank you for the warm comment! And yeah.. I forgot how long/short 10 day is.
This definitely suffers from the lack of content. In fact, this is hardly even a tech demo.
While I actually did start off by enjoying the gameplay, the lack of anything more than opening a gate made for an extremely bland experience. This game had a lot of potential and I was very sad to see it not utilized.
However, I did read the description and a note that the project was incomplete due to it being out of scope was in there. While this does not mean the game gets any pity, I do respect your decision to announce the mistake.
Overall, I canβt give you any criticism I donβt think you already know. This game fails from itβs lack of development, otherwise it held a great amount of potential. Try to keep this as a lesson in the future.
That's a little harsh man... It literally says on the jam page to submit whatever you have even if the game is not finished, and it's far from the least complete game we've come across. Like, yeah absolutely an incomplete game isn't going to get 5 star ratings, but no need to drag the devs over the coals.
Thank you for the comments! And don't worry, I totally agree and understand his perspective!
We are all developers and as such we should professionally deliver honest and accurate feedback so we can help each other improve in the future. This includes not only saying what went right, but also what went wrong.
but I want to kill something... xD I would like to play more^^
I would have loved to play more of it! Loved the overall artstyle and the point and click mechanic, also the shooting mechanic! Would have loved to actually shoot at sth :D
Argh! Too short =D I was just getting intrigued
Good stuff: nice art, point-n-click descriptions, classic but nice setup
Bad stuff: and then it ends =D also, the gate puzzle was kinda out of place
I really like the art style and the controls. It took me a while to figure out what your instructions on how to use inventory items worked, but once I figured it out and solved the fuse box puzzle, i really like how it works. A note for the main release, which I hope there is... make a hotspot on the inventory item cursor. I naturally wanted to point the top left corner of the fuse at the fusebox, but it wouldn't register until it was uncomfortably off to the side.
Really nice start, I very much hope you continue it!
I really appreciate for the feedback! I didn't thought about the hotspot that you are talking about. And I think it's a really good idea!
