I liked it; it manages to keep you tense and alert, which is one of the keys to a horror video game. It would benefit a lot from more props around the map to set the scene. Great job!
yea definitely, I lost a lot of time trying to learn blender for the monster and cabin but mastering the basics now. I'm remodeling the monster and then making all of the miscellaneous assets for an update when the jams over. Thanks for checking it out! Glad there was some uneasiness.
I'm not able to load the game on the browser. I primarily use Opera as my browser but it looks like it was getting stuck loading so I tried chrome and it appears to be stuck at the same spot. I waited about 2 minutes and it's still not loading. Any suggestions? I'm on Windows 11,Chrome is up to date -Version 128.0.6613.114 (Official Build) (64-bit)After typing that all out, it finally loaded, it loaded when I was trying to attach a screenshot. The game doesn't seem to run well on my laptop, I'll give it a shot again when I get to my desktop and see if it runs better there.
aw strange, this is the first I've heard of running issues. Hopefully the desktop runs it well. It's been running on older laptops but using Chrome primarily. Let me know if you have any issues if you do get a chance to try it out on desktop. Maybe let it sit for 60 seconds or so once you hit "Run" on desktop if you're still having issues.
It ran pretty smooth on my desktop, actually it probably ran too fast, but that was okay. I died once and was able to kill the creature the second time around. Well done!
Awesome glad to hear it
Gosh, I feel so much safer and more powerful with a massive shotgun to take this creepy dude out. The erratic and crazy animation on the monster actually added to the challenge - he's a tough guy to put down! Lots of little things, like a developer document being available, a tutorial and controller support indicate that you put a lot of thought into how to make the game as accessible as possible which is awesome. The document makes it really clear that you achieved the exact gameplay loop you set out to create, which is an excellent workflow and a good sign of being capable of planning for bigger and better things. Great work!
Awesome, thanks for noticing the little things and thanks for playing!
nice and short. great job!
Really creepy game! The sounds the monster made really creeped me out! The sensitivity was a bit weird in the vertical axis and the terrain was a bit weird in some places. Played it multiple times as the monster broke in and killed me the first time around. Great game!
Thanks for getting scared! Yea I'd received similar feedback on the controls. Made a risky artistic choice in numbing the vertical, but will match it to the horizontal once the jam's over. Were you using controller too?
I played with keyboard and mouse but other than that the controls worked!
Great thanks!
The sounds were really creepy and the monster was fun! i loved that i had to hide in the cabin and watch for it, i was scared when it broke in and i fluke killed it in my panic hahaha! i enjoyed this even though it was short.
Lol that's great, glad you enjoyed it. Yea I'd hoped to make it longer but you know how it goes. Happy jammin
Nice submission, I really liked the spooky atmosphere and creatures! I played it multiple times on browser and it was smooth every time.
A few ideas if you want to improve this prototype or create something similar:
Have a nice day!
Thanks for playing! Yea I agree with all of these suggestions. A lot of things might have been adjusted or added if I had more time for polishing, but bit off a bit more than I thought. Did you use a controller when you played?
Nope, I only used M&K though. Did you first designed your game for the controller ?
ah ok, I used unityβs input manager to make it for m&k/controller but Itβs just the vertical dampening might be a bit more on controller.
