Not bad game, but it didn't scare me at all, but the graphics are quite nice. Well done!
Wonderful. I like the atmospheric mood of the game.
Thanks a lot!
What a wonderful atmosphere this game has. The visuals and audio work in concert well here - I thought the closing of the day to night and the distant howls of the werewolf instilled a really good sense of dread that made me not want to stray very far from the fire! It's short, but leaves a good impression. I enjoy the imagination of a historical context to the game. As others have said, having slightly more focus to direct the player to their goal of retrieving sheep could be helpful, but I think the game nonetheless ably achieves the tone it sets out to establish.
Thanks a lot for the kind words!
Yes, guiding the player throughout the map was something we didn’t spend enough time on. That would be one of the first additions to the game post-jam :)
I have plenty of faith the post-jam version will be pretty damn good. Planning to do much with the background story?
Everything about this game is well made. The aesthetic, the assets, the sound design, the mechanics. Everything is concise and adds up to the experience. The werewolf really scared me the first time, then I played it again and tried to stay alive longer. Overall I had a lot of fun playing this!
I found the visuals very interesting and the werewolf is really quite scary. Congratulations on the game.
Thank you so much! We took some inspirationf from the balverines in Fable, it was a very interesting art style for us to create. :)
It's beautiful!!!
- When you can, please analyze our project, your feedback would be of great help.
Will do it now but it seems really scary! haha
Yes, even I get a few scares from time to time lol
Woah the esthetic of your game is very beautiful and the creature is haunting! My first play I brought the sheep with me cuz I thought it was cute and walked around so nothing happened, but after returning him I realized my mistake haha. In my second play I got to 3 sheep but before the 3'd sheep entered the enclosure I got caught sadly!
My feedback would be to make the world maybe a bit smaller and add location markers like building or so because I got lost very easily. Lastly it would be great if the creature couldn't get you in the "safe zone" because I didn't stand a chance haha!
Overall great work and hope to see more from you! :D
Thanks for playing and your feedback!
Yes the world is quite big, improving the world generation to be more diverse while keeping a maze aspect would be a plus.
Have you tried fending off the creature with your torch? (You can use the right mouse button to do so).
I think there is still a bug where the win condition is never triggered when you bring all of the sheeps :/
Ohhh I didn't realize I could do that, my bad haha!
The environment is simple but very immersive, and it was pretty creepy for me to hear the monster howling.
I feel like the environment is too big with no clear landmarks to guide the players, however the art style and lighting was great!
That’s true. We had a hard time deciding between procedurally generate our map or do it manually. We chose the first option which is kind of time consuming and thus it lacks some variety in the map assets.
The atmosphere and the sound design was really well executed.
The first thought I had when playing was "Oh wow, this looks beautiful" and, honestly, I wasn't expecting such a gorgeous game to get as scary as it did!
It might be a skill issue, but I got lost almost as soon as I wandered off. Not sure if this was intended, but if not, maybe some landmarks in the area would help guide players. I feel like something like a weird rock or having torches near the ring would help guide players from far away.
Thanks a lot for your commentary!
We sure spend a lot of the time working on the environment and atmosphere.
Nooo it’s not a skill issueat all haha. We figured too late that the torches around the spawn didn’t emit enough light and this could have been helpful for the players to find their way back. The map is procedurally generated which can create interesting layouts but is also a double-edged sword in terms of time! It’s always kind of difficult to balance your priorities in such a short timeline.
I’ll be sure to give your game a go, looks cool too!
Really enjoyed the game, the atmosphere was amazing and really unsettling, I got spooked that's for sure!
Thanks a lot! We’re glad you were spooked, that was our intention haha
