This game is really fun and I like the characters along with the animations they have. The only bug I ran into was if I hurt the last enemy the same time they hurt me and had only one life left I would be obliterated but still win. The outcome worked out in my favor anyways, but it felt weird to have exploded right before winning.
The story is really cute. The areas are a bit wide for the amount of enemies they have, and some sort of enemy counter would have helped a lot because without it I ran around in a circle, went to the door for the next level, and went back to running in a circle to find the last guy. It's a solid foundation for what could be a much bigger project and I think that's neat!
This game is great. The levels are well made, the enemies work really well, and the story is fun. In my eyes, the top down perspective works really well with this style of game. The attacking system is great, and when you understand it the enemies are fun to attack, even in larger groups. The one thing I would change is I would give a "fog of war" type deal to the inside level so you can't see around the corners.
I loved your game so much! I love the fact that it has a little story in the beginning to set the tone of the game, that is very creative. I love the player movement and fight mechanics as well! The animations are very well implemented and make the combat feature of the game exciting, especially with the timing between enemy fight animation and player fight animation and who gets the hit first. I would say, when the player is moving backwards or side to side, the player character stays facing front even when moving backwards. Other than that, this is a lovely little game and I can't wait to see how you progress!
This game is amazing! I love the story behind it, and all the mechanics function really well. A couple suggestions: I feel like this game might function better with an orthographic perspective rather than a top-down perspective. I also feel like there should be a pause menu and way to exit the game once you've started, especially since dying just auto-resets the level. Otherwise, it works amazingly!
I thought this game was well done! I like the top-down perspective and the characters. The gameplay is pretty straightforward and simple to grasp. I would have enjoyed if there were more types of enemies that behaved differently or a boss fight since once I figured out what to do, it became pretty easy to get through the game. The end of the game could have been more amped up in difficulty and/or excitement I think if there were a different kind of fight there. Great job especially with the time that we had!
I was actually hoping to add a boss fight for the final level, but I ended up not having enough time to do it. I'm glad you enjoyed the game, though!
I love the game, very simple and straight forward. In the future I would add a way for the player to get out of the game while in game. A quit button would work. You could also add a pause menu. The enemies were straight forward yet a little easy. You might could make different levels of enemies.
