Cool looking game!

I enjoy the risk of letting your main weapon go when you attack. It creates for a nice risk/reward moment. I'm sure with more work, this game could be in a great spot for an endless survival game.

This is a solid game idea, and impressive to do it in 100 lines of code! It probably just needs a few tweaks to get the difficulty just right. As others have mentioned, the boomerang needs a little work for pickup, but the mechanic of just letting it sit there spinning and taking out a line of zombies is just fun XD The music and art are spot on, but a few sound effects would also add a little extra to the game. Excellent entry! Well done!

Its fun, hard, but fun, the music and graphics are also very good, the boomerang can be improved

Thanks so much for the review. I 100% agree with you abt the boomerang hitbox. I wish I completely redid the system tbh. I haven’t actually beaten it yet. The most I have gotten is 3 spawners(in my two attempts during playtest), but I’m not very good at video games lol

Developer

Has anyone beat the game yet? It’s pretty hard ngl

Great game! Game looks are great, soundtracks works well, there are some things that I didn't like (fe. sometimes i thought i got the boomerang, but after running away I see it on the floor, or  stuck in the building moment) but apart from that, it's suprisingly advanced for 100 lines of code. Great job!

Thanks so much for your review.

The soundtrack and art worked amazing for the game! I liked the use of the boomerang for combat, though it would be great if the boomerang could return to the player, and there were a few collision issues I noticed with the boomerang. The use of visual effects like lighting and the attack effects were great!

Thank you so much for the Comment. This is my first game in Godot and I agree that the boomerang hitbox needs to bigger. If I had a do-over I would probably have the pickup function be a hitbox instead of a distance equation.

Satisfying gameplay loop, the game looks and sounds great. Some sound effects would help bring the piece together and maybe some more lighting in areas. I enjoy throwing the boomerang out and letting hordes of zombies walk into it. Honestly, fantastic looking game,  and was really fun exploring the map. The soundtrack was 10/10.

It might be worth using Navmesh if possible to improve the pathing of the enemies so they don't walk through the buildings :) And then the boomerang doesn't come back, but it's a creative mechanic and we could only use 100 lines so I respect it. Plus it's fun as it is.

Thanks so much for the review :D. I 100% feel you on the path finding. I am new to Godot and I would love to learn pathfinding. (It’s my goal for the next game)

If you're using Godot then you just need a navmesh node! In the top right of the viewport, there's a button to autogenerate the mesh :)

Looks good.

The hitbox/time frame for picking up the boomerang could do to be a bit bigger, walked through it a few times.

Developer

Honestly, I agree. I should've done a little more playtesting then I did lol
