I've started playing some amazing entries, but they have no voice acting.
In the rate section, how do i rate it?

Yeah its a weird voting for something that is not required for the jam. I've been going for 3 stars because i dont want to drop their score too much for something that was optional, then anything with va has 4 stars and things i really like has 5 stars. I assume most just give it 1 star rating though.
the way the voting works is that the person who gets itch鈥檚 favorite title is actually by the number of votes the game gets, bad or good ratings? doesn鈥檛 matter just the amount in total
the dev sees the average of all the ratings of their game tho i think
but basically don't worry too much XD i鈥檝e also been rating non va games as 3 stars

The 'Itch.IO Favorite' category is a prizeless award that we offer to whoever manages to receive the most ratings period. It's sort of an incentive to be proactive about sharing your content with folks.
The rankings with prizes are all determined by the internal panel of judges, and I think if the game has no voice acting at all I think most developers will rightly ignore the category when they see their own scores.
