Thank you for the kind words! You're definitely one of the top reasons why I decided to continue development, and to push out this EP version just to show the game isn't abandoned :)

I... I'm not even sure what to say here, this is one of the most detailed reviews I've ever received, and it means a lot. Theres a lot of good points here for many things we just couldn't even consider in the time span we had. I'm glad that you enjoyed it and put in the time to write this all out. I appreciate it, thank you so much!
Hello, thank you for asking. As much as I personally would have loved to finish this game. We had a lot of problems with almost half the team just dropping us. It ended up as me, a programmer, and our artist trying to write anything for the game and we're not very good at it haha...
Perhaps someone in the future shows interests in taking the project, but as of now I see no possibility of it continuing.
Howdy, just wanted to give an update. We've got a sizeable team so far and one member brought up a fair point that we might not need that many depending on the game idea we go with. So we're trying to finish our brainstorming and then will see what we think we need. But will let you know ASAP. If you find another team I wish you best of luck in the jam!

It was intended to have small main menu buttons, but that was also cause of some other planned things that never happened. Perhaps we might still add those to add to some more creepyness.
Thanks for the mention of the dialogue box, that one I need to set properly :o. Not sure why history zoom doesnt work since i just tried on webgl version and works fine? Might just be that you are not clicking on the handle?
Also weird that you're seeing the narrator's name, thats probably someone who misspelt narrator and now its showing as an actual name although I shouldve picked up on that.
Yeah, story is very heavy on confusion, it's hard to balance that well when you already know whats going on. Might need to get some fresh testers to go in blind and give their opinions early on to the writers so we can make it run smoothly.
Thanks for the feedback, appreciate it!
Wow now that i've played this im quite impressed. You have made something very unique to this game jam. Even though it's not as polished as others, it takes a lot of effort to create something like you did. Visually it falls short, the characters seem quite blurry and dont have any real expressions. But you have some great animation work with screen panning and the likes. Then you have a the QTE mechanic and a turn based combat system. It's all very nicely made. I'd say if you can maybe get an artist or 2 and some more time to do touchups, this could be a really great product. Not to mention, the story is also quite nice and very interesting!
Wow, such a great result. Starting up you have the beautiful piano which then it transforms into the starting set piece of the game, its very well done and shows a lot of passion. The main menu overall is very well designed, different instruments and having the options/settings feel like part of them is really nice. The story itself is really well made and a bit tough at times but it carries the plot well. Not a type of game im used to with the depiction of abuse but you did it justice. I wont go into details about it to avoid spoilers, overall great work. The voice acting was amazing and lent itself well. The art was not only done well, im impressed you have so many changes for the MC, then also its really well animated, the movements are great, the little particles around some people. Clearly you guys really cared about what you made and got an amazing end result, its very well polished. Also i love the lil plushie!
This was a nice story, felt quite easy to read and enjoy. An issue i encountered was when setting the game to fullscreen, my cursor dissapeared and had to constantly alt tab until i could get to the windowed option again. The handles for the sliders are not transparent so they look a bit weird hiding part of the slider bar. The music was also very loud, might want to lower the default levels a bit. I found the fact that the characters all looked wildly different odd at first but after learning more of the world it made sense. The artstyle overall was very unique and works quite well for this story. The characters are very static though, only swapping a few poses but nothing else happening in the scene. I also liked the between place filling with the faces as you went between areas, nice little touch. The ambience and music really fit well to it, was really well done!
Overall a nice game, good work!
Ohh thank you! I see the line youre talking about, didnt fully test all the dialogue so I missed that part, it will be split into 2 on our next update whenever we do that, so appreaciate the note on it (most certainly not a feature but glad it somewhat works lol)! And glad you enjoyed the art style, artists did a lot of discussion on getting to the point of where we eneded up.
OOOOh boy what a game! Ill start off with more technical side of things because Im very familiar with unity and you might appreaciate that side of things, also im happy to finally see another unity game in this jam so yeah! The main menu is very pretty, great aesthetics, very minimal, it works well. I would recommend adding a confirmation menu to the leave button, similar to the one you use for deleting saves. The credits should close in the main menu when you open other menus, or maybe just have a stronger transparency for the menus to avoid seeing text on top of each other. I do love that I have all these customisations at my fingertips in the settings, compared to a lot of games with only 1 or 2 options this is very nice that youre making use of them. The preview for text speed is a nice touch, I've never used nani novel so some of this might just end up being me complimenting the engine but whatever you guys programmed is also stellar work. When loading into the game, id suggest making the audio source for music persist since its the same song, alternatively a fade in/out could work nicely to avoid it sound a bit janky. Lastly on the technical side of things, I noticed your sliders arent correctly set up, you have the image squashing/stetching instead of being masked away when dragging, its a little thing but if you set it up right it looks wayyy better!
Moving on to the actual game now. The in game ui, very pretty and stylized, I would appreaciate an auto button as someone who likes to sit back and drink while reading but its okay to not have it. I will warn following parts might be spoilery but im keeping it minimal. I love the design for the skeleton boy, if your artist doesnt mind, id love to use his art for one of my dnd campaigns. He is so cool and I love him. It was weird for me to notice how quickly I just sort of went almost like stockholm syndrom and wanted to stay with him. It was great story telling to make me attached to a character so quickly, the feeling of being lost on my own was great, wanting to know more of what was going on until the end. Usually i dont like overly static characters, but your use of having him turn around constantly was really good, i was so immersed, walking the long path with him was so nice. I liked the way the CGs flowed as well! The music as well is so nice, it compliments the game perfectly!
There hasn't been many visual novels but I applaud you for immersing and investing me into this game so quickly, I was hooked within the first few lines. Great work, I love you, give me skele boy.
The starting music was quite loud. The main menu looked quite pretty. The in game music however was very fantastical. Its surprising to see a visual novel entry that doesnt have all the options directly displayed. Not a big issue but quite uncommon. The menu font is a bit hard to read. The story was nice and I found the art style for the characters a nice choice, stands out quite a bit, does conceal some of the depth of a character but works for the game. Also the game was quite static, not a whole lot of character movement and such. Good work for what I assume to be a single person based on the others being general links? either way, good job!
Wow, I'm impressed you got this all done on your own, even though you used some assets, the ability to do this all alone is great! The music is very peaceful, the starting scene with text going out of the image was slightly unsatisfying but not the biggest issue. I like that the girls fill art is a higabana (not sure if thats the right name) but its a cute touch especially fits the overall theme here. The little movements all the characters do is very nice and especially the altering camera angles, and animations as they run across the screen or pop up from below. Its all very charming and works well to avoid the biggest issue of how static a lot of VNs are. Great work! And of course the story is very nice, the ending was very sweet.
