Dear beloved Martha. I'll cherish her to the end.

Very curiously creepy, and as everyone has chimed in, I adore the Tim Burton-esque character designs. The monster reveals were super cool, the colors and backgrounds added to the shifting atmosphere of unease to warmth and familiarity. Voice acting was a nice touch (I'm here for MissKatonik HIIIII and the VA for Cethin/Grimes did a great job as well. I wish Martha's VA lines were also a bit louder!) Nice work with the animated sprites as well!

Cheers to the whole team and Happy Spooktober!

Yeah the lines volume is on me hahah next time better!
Thanks so much for playing 💜

The art, the colour palette, the animations were such a treat to the eyes- I wasn't expecting to see what I saw when I ran out the bedroom but ngl I was too captivated by the character design to look away HAHA :')) (love his moving tatts btw)

Also I appreciate the audio cues after selecting choices, it's such nice touch but it helps clue you into the routes (though I may be completely wrong so please correct me if I am)! I think y'all did a phenomenal job and thank you for this experience!

I actually like the voice acting.  And I'm gonna echo everyone else that the Tim Burton art style was so smooth and stylish, it really added to the overall creepiness. As someone who appreciates animations in your visual novel, the smooth animations were a big plus to me. Congrats for making it!

This experience was rather interesting! The visual presentation is amazing, it was others mentioned  Tim Burton-esque, and also a little like Don't Starve as well, and I think there can be more games in general that should be that style so good on you! My biggest point of criticism is the voice acting, while it is very nice to have the quality and mixing is pretty stark in it's difference, particularly Martha. I also don't feel like there could be more stronger acting choices (this is coming from someone who really wants to work in this field, so don't be disheartened!)

Otherwise, it's an interesting premise, and after stumbling around to find the story I really digged the overall style of the whole thing-- truly promising! Great job

Oh! I love the Tim Burton vibe. I got the Martha route, and it was very entertaining. GG! ❤

I like how stylized the character arts and backgrounds are. The main menu is somehow very small compared to the size of the screen. Is this intended? There’s also a flicker of the dialogue box right after I start the game, though it’s very minor. The history zoom doesn’t work for me but I’m happy of the thought. I really appreciate the complete suite of VN features, which don’t always come with an Unity game.

I like how the choice menu appears and disappears. The narrator name seems to go outside the box at times, though?

Hmm. Interesting. An awkward opening, no one seems to know what’s going on…I’m torn. I think I personally would like an extra line or two in the beginning to set the scene, but this confusion is apt to the story. I must admit I have no idea what’s going on the first 15 minutes of this, and then. Oh. OH.

That was a good one. Great use of lighting too.

What a deliciously creepy game this is! The overall art design--from the characters and backgrounds to the ui and limited, shifting color palette--is phenomenally unnerving, especially with the haunting tracks that back it. The surreal storyline makes my skin prickle (in a good way), and the voice cast did a beautiful job in their roles. 💚 Well done, team!

Aww thanks a lot for the kind words! Appreciate the feedback!

Psychological horror at its finest!

There was so much emotion in the voice acting! Absolutely haunting! The art style perfectly enhanced the mood. There was also a lot of reply value in this game if wholly different scenes depending on your choices. Animations were  really smooth and really added to the mood.

Thank you for making this game!

Developer

Thank you so much for the feedback! Yeah the main focus of this game was to give a lot of impactful choices that change the way your story goes as you progress. Art and animations was also something fun we wanted to try out :)

I love this Tim Burton vibe the game has going, and all the smooth animations are astounding.  There was a spot where the dialogue went so long that it fell out of the textbox (the part where Grimes responded to the main character saying he wanted to be a writer), I don't know if that was intentional or not but it was still really good for that moment (and if it wasn't intentional then consider this a bug report :-) ).  Very fun experience, very Halloween-Gothic if that makes any sense.

Developer(+2)

Ohh thank you! I see the line youre talking about, didnt fully test all the dialogue so I missed that part, it will be split into 2 on our next update whenever we do that, so appreaciate the note on it (most certainly not a feature but glad it somewhat works lol)! And glad you enjoyed the art style, artists did a lot of discussion on getting to the point of where we eneded up.

Loved the whole aesthetic and ambient you created. The art is stunning, from the use of colors to the character designs (I am obsessed with the tattoo and the evolution it had) and their animations. The music also fits amazingly and adds to that dream-melancholic vibe the game achieves. Great job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I did not expect anyone to notice the changes of the tattoo so thats very nice to hear!

Wow. Amazing game.

Her hair flutters, their eyes blink,  and their arms can move.

I love the BGM and voice acting! They really fits.

I played on the browser. I wonder if Martha's route ended after she said love you too? Because I cannot get past that dialogue.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Yes it does end there, tbh I completely forgot that im supposed to create something at the end until like the last day and then didnt see any quick ways to do it. Maybe ill just make it load the main menu again afterwards.

Submitted(+3)

Maybe it's just browser version thing but when I chose Grimes to invite I catch soft lock I think. Anyway it's very good and there is even voice acting! And also this animation technique is pretty unusual for visual novels. It really fits overall atmosphere

For anyone new: this has been fixed!

It's present in all versions, I had an empty command at the start of the file that I added by accident near the deadline. I think that's thankfully the only place that I made the mistake and also that specific bug is now error proofed which ill upload the fix and some others once its open again.

Thank you for the kind words! Our artists wanted to do something unique with the art style and got to this!
