I loved the cartoony visuals and animations of this platformer! The controls were a little tricky, I struggled with the wall jump in particular but it was still a fun experience. Great work, thanks for sharing!

Nice jobs on this!  I like that the light is how you heal (makes sense for plants).  The wall jump mechanic was a bit wonky for me to get used to, but nice job overall!

Thank you ! Yes I'm not 100% satisfied with the wall jump, I don't know what causes this wonky feeling. It's my first implementation of a wall jump mechanism, I think I would need to put a little more work to make things feeling smoother :)

Cute little platformer! I like the tomato guy and his mechanics! :) I'm not the best at platform games, but this was fun to play.

Thanks for jamming with us!

Nice tomato :D Nice platformer, I like how in the wall jump it uses its vines to attach to the wall. A bit difficult to control, and near the vine springs I die without anything touching me.

Thank you for the comment !
Yup I understand that this part is not super clear unfortunately^^ In fact the "vine spring" is an enemy, which pushes you back and inflict damages when you touch it. There are two ways to pass the jump where you died :
- you can use the enemy as a spring
- you can do an almost pixel perfect wall jump on the wall on the left, but this one is pretty hard to do
Using the enemy that pushes you back is indeed the easiest way, but costs you one health. There are sunbeams just next to this passage so you can heal between each attempt if you don't make it first try, so after the jump you still have maxHealth - 1 to reach the next sunbeams !

Hope that makes things more understandable :)

I like the idea and the tomato guy is cool! The gameplay is maybe a little awkward though. I would like to see the game developed further :)

First of all, the use of 3D models gives this game a super cool aesthetic! I wish we got to see them from more angles, although that might defeat the purpose of a 2D jam lol. Also having the optional difficult paths was really fun and I wish more games did stuff like that--I feel like so many of them have the difficult paths as the *only* way to go and wear you down with difficulty. I would love to see this game expanded someday! Awesome stuff!!

Actually I could have put in more sprites of the 3D models and technically stay in a 2D game, but that would be too time consuming and I don't know if it would make the game look better^^

For my next jam I'm thinking about doing sprites with the same technique, but with lower resolution and higher framerate, so I could have super smooth pixel art animations :)
