I like the idea that if a character has sex, regularly, they have more options in combat. That is a neat idea. I appreciate that there's several backgrounds for each race. I would have given Kitsune a savvy bonus instead of intelegence, they are known to be charming spirits. I like that in combat there's 2 actions plus a bonus and a reaction, that's the best mix of D&D 5 and PF 2 I have seen. OK, I have not looked at this hard enough to consider the actual balance. I honestly giggled a bit at the list of sex acts with space between where illustrations can go. But this PDF has a place on my hard drive, though I doubt I will ever play it.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I definitely agree on the Kitsune part, I kept going back and forth on whether to change one of their stats to savvy or not. I ultimately didn't because dex/savvy would have been the same as the Fiendbloods, but it probably would be best to change both of them a bit. We'll have to play with the different boosts to see which fit best.

hmm, perhaps fiendbloods could be strength/savvy, for the temptation to get their way, one way or another.

holy fuck this just keeps going.  this is so incomprehensibly elaborate.  wow

a game that causes you to have sex in real life has surely got to win...  something.  i regret that i have only stars to give

Thanks for the high praise! We definitely went a bit deeper with the rules than originally expected. But I'm glad it came across well.

This is an unbelievable amount of work for a month, I'm amazed!

I'm not super huge on TTRPGs, and sadly I can't spare the time to play, much less find people to play with, but from what I managed to read and take in this looks quite well crafted and well thought out. The lewd flair to the whole affair is always fun too.

The artwork that is there is well made too, and everything is laid out in a very readable and understandable way. Very impressive!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for checking it out and I'm glad you liked the artwork! I knew a ttrpg would be a difficult choice for people to actually play or test and that's most of the reason I made the solo rules. But despite that, I really liked the idea so I wanted to run with it anyways.

Fun role-play idea for sure and I enjoy the artwork featured as well.

Thanks!

This is a very interesting concept and not something I expected to see. Reading through the core and solo rules, it seems like a fun and creative experience, but it is a bit difficult to rate within the current parameters of the jam itself. However there does seem to be a lot of well thought out concepts and is very impressive to see that this has been created. ~

Developer

Thanks! I know we picked a weird type of game for a jam like this but I had the idea for the ttrpg and just felt that I had to run with it. I considered trying to throw together a quick soundtrack or something for the sound category and we originally had wanted to do more art for the aesthetic side but those all had to get cut at the wire.

It is truly incredible to put something like this together in a month! Unfortunately this game will be difficult for me to rate since I didn't play it, but Itch badly demotes things with low amounts of ratings and I feel like this game may not get enough. Even so, the scores would greatly depend on the group if the game is to be played.

Something that stands out to me is that Mystic Escort will be very overworked and constantly moving around since most of the LARP elements require them to do something. Players having sex while the ME describes things probably works better than the game freezing after an ability is used. There may also need to be a hard limit on abilities to make them a bit more special, so that games don't drag out for too long for high-level parties.

The Shorefall adventure has a lot of interesting sections and world flavor in it. There's just lots of neat worldbuilding in the documents in general, I like that everything has some truly distinct flavor to it!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I'm glad you liked the Shorefall setting. I had a ton of fun designing the city and really like how it came together. I wanted to add even more but that was one of those right against the wire-ish additions. That's a fair point on the LARP elements, it could definitely get to be a bit exhausting or too much.  I think the idea was more that play sessions would be shorter than your average ttrpg game and that you could start skipping those elements when you get tired. I also figured the ability slot system would be a good way to limit those activities as well but perhaps its still too generous with how many slots that you start with.

The LARP elements are likely to be the memorable highlights of the session so having them be smooth, unintrusive and fun is important. Which I think the game is generally designed around, but increasing them with levels and focusing on the Mystic Escort specifically may disrupt the sessions too much. If everyone at the table is feeling horny and energized they can always have their characters rest to get the abilities back for more action. Players will probably have their eye set on specific people who they want to have sexual acts with, so it may be better to write the names of all desired partners on character sheets and roll dice to choose one whenever a LARP element is needed.

There actually is a bit under "The Participants" sections on page 7 that actually talks about designating other players for activities if you have more than just one player and a Mystic Escort so that actually was the intended thing to do if you are playing with more than a couple. I definitely need to make that more prominent and probably re-word it be more clear. I'm probably over-using the word player which makes things more confusing. I really like the idea about rolling to decide what player to involve though, I think that is a great idea for groups that don't have a preference.

I’m not familiar with D&D or tabletop RPGs, and I haven’t actually playtested this game, so my opinion and feedback might not be accurate… Still!

I really enjoyed reading through the manual! I agree with the other comment that these rules seem more suited for a group rather than a couple, which might just be due to the nature of TTRPGs… Although I see your point about how it could also be a 2-player game. I’m amazed at how much attention has been given to details and consistency! There’s a lot of polish in the ruleset. I like the allure system a lot.

The class names are pretty funny, although they don’t appear to relate to any of their usage. And on the topic of class abilities, although the LARP elements definitely make this game stand out, they also didn’t seem to have much relation to the abilities themselves. It might be nice to have more sexual origin quirks, since only a few ancestries even have any. And on a personal note, I’d like to see more of the “edging” system! It seemed unique but underused.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I know that with ttrpgs it's often thought of as large group play and definitely the rules, especially the performer class, fit that well. It's balanced around only having the one player though like a duet ttrpg. But definitely being a table-top RPG probably hurts that idea a bit. I'll have to think on the LARP elements more too. I tried to match them to abilities a bit but at times that was hard to do but maybe with more time to think it over, there may be better options. I like the idea about the quirks, we didn't want to be too heavy handed or over the top with the references but I think the quirks were a good spot for those kind of things. I might go back and add some sort of kinkier origin for the other ancestries too.

Cool to see a tabletop game in the jam! A lot here is ripped straight from D&D (including protected terminology, you may have to release this under the OGL) and Pathfinder, but a fair amount isn't, which is good. I like the ability system. However, this feels like a game you strictly play within a polycule, due to the sex rules, but I'm not polygamous, so what do I know. A lot of work must have gone into this- It is complete with a reasonable set of races, equipment, moves, monsters, and even a character sheet and entire adventure module! It ticks off all the boxes that something mimicking D&D wants to do. Bravo for packing in that much content in a month!

Developer

Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. It's meant for couples more so than polycules but the language was kept vague because it can scale with any number of players. I'm curious what the protected terminology you saw was though. We deliberately tried to avoid protected terms when possible so I'm not sure what exactly slipped through. It is certainly using common names like d20, checks, advantage, etc but those terms are used across many different rule sets both inside and outside of the OGL. Was trying to avoid using any particular license because we built it to be its own system from the ground up while still being familiar for d20 system players.
