Soft body stuff is awesome! Love the look of it all, besides the unfinished art in some places, being able to more clearly see the damage difference would have been great

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing! Yeah, the art was very rushed near the end. I'm guessing by "damage difference" you're referring to seeing a visual of some kind to show how much damage is dealt by each gun? A few people have suggested something similar, so I'll probably make an option to turn on "damage values" as well as "team plasma values" so you can see how much plasma each gun takes to fire. I appreciate the feedback!

Yeah that was what I was referring to. Really looking forward to see how this projects expands later

Loving the soft body(?) character animations in this game and the fact you play with real, intelligent AIs. The stuff you manage to make keeps blowing my mind! The only shortcoming in my opinion is that the game art and world is subpar.

Thanks, I appreciate the feedback and you're definitely right about the art---besides the characters and weapons, most of the art was just rushed / placeholder stuff. I'll probably redo most of the art after the jam, though I do want to try and keep the simpler style going. I will also hopefully add more maps (maybe even a full campaign's worth?)

I love the procedural animation! but the combat feels slow, things like double jumps, dashes, or wall jumps could make the game more fun

Developer(+1)

Thanks, yeah the combat is still being refined (I don't know about double jumps or dash but I do plan to add a clamber/ledge grab mechanic at some point)

Extra Thoughts: I really liked this game! It's pretty fun to play, and the character's movements and animations are awesome to watch. I think the whole concept is pretty solid and well done. It also fits the theme perfectly with a creative approach.  Fantastic job!

Thanks for the review!

I absolutely adore the procedurally animated characters, the camera feels pretty disorienting though. This’d be an awesome online game if flowlab had better multiplayer.

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you, and I can definitely add an option to make the camera just fixed/centered on the player

I was indeed considering making this multiplayer, but yeah, flowlab still really needs a multiplayer update

Developer

Well it may be 2 months late, but I have now added the option to center the camera on the player (instead of follow the mouse). It's found in the pause menu. (Also it is enabled by default on mobile devices.)
