Driving horror games — always with the rear-view mirror!

Pretty nifty, if very insubstantial. I like the fact that you can go off-road and just drive between the hills until you run out of gas. Not much else to say. I really don't know how you'd expand on this concept without covering ground already treaded by games like Dead End Road or the upcoming BEWARE (well, quote-on-quote "upcoming". Maybe it'll take a decade, but I'm sure it'll come out eventually)

Still, good effort!

Thanks for your review!

It's still unclear how we could expand it but one of the earliest ideas did not have the rear view mirror at all! I actually built the code around having to manually look behind your shoulder in a first person view while driving the car. In the end we didn't do it that way but I really want to do it in the final version as I think it would add some tension to it all.

Look forward to the final version, you might be surprised!

Really liked the concept and the controls! I think it would be interesting to see the tension increase with some strange noises or stuff on the road. I would love to see an expanded version after the jam.

Really interesting concept for a first-person horror game, I just wish there was some sort of objective besides "keep driving forward to avoid the Hash-Slinging Slasher. Would love to see this getting expanded into a full game once the jam is over.

Thank you for the feedback! Glad you liked it!

We were short on time mostly due to me having a hard time with the programming but we had an objective planned and we took notes of what we wanted to add in a final version after the jam!

Auto generated map, amazing. Simple, readable screen layout, amazing. I have played a few driving games, and this is one of my favorite control system so far. The graphic style reminds me of the racing games I played on old nokia phones.

I am not sure if there is an ending. If this is an endless game, I think adding a "score" (you lasted ?? km, etc) might encourage the player to go further. Very cool!

Thanks for your comment!

We had an ending planned, but it was scrapped at the last minute, because the generation took way more time and energy than planned out of our programmer.
So, we were rushing to finish and, and sadly couldn't add either the ending or a score, but the assets exists and it would be the first thing we do for an update.

Nice game! When I first played, I was confused as to what the objective was and I ended up running out of fuel after doing some off-roading haha - but on my second run, I quickly understood the gameplay loop after paying attention to the car mirror and seeing the fuel signs along the way. I like how the map is automatically generated too.

I'm glad that the objective was understandable with a test run, and that you had fun when retrying!

Really cool concept! Was kinda confused whenever I first played because I backed directly into him and it did nothing lol, everything works whenever you progress though. Wish there was a little more to do, but it is still cool nonetheless.

Thank you for your comment!

It's funny to imagine the situation in context, that the character would go in reverse and just hug the entity because they messed up with their gear stick.

Glad you liked it in the end!
And yeah, we would have also liked to have more content, sadly two weeks is surprisingly short to make a game.
