AWESOME!!!
Devs have been trying for years to come up with a great firework game, but you did it! This was great fun and very aesthetically engaging. GREAT JOB!!!
Thanks!!
Fireworks were the first thing that came to my mind when asking "what kind of button can summon FUN when pressing it?". I had no idea this was a latent genre. :-)
This is so good! :) It isreally pretty to look at, beautiful to hear, and has actual engaging gameplay.
Thank you for trying it out, I'm glad you liked it!
I 've really enjoyed the sound design and the visuals, that's a really effective game/experience !
Thank you so much for playing!
Well done, this was really well made! Easy to understand premise, but had a lot of strategy, and you were able to dissuade people from just spam-clicking the button to win by making that not the most successful method of play. The game looks great, and plus I'm just a sucker for fireworks.
Only nitpick is that there should be an option to quit the game in-game once the player is done playing, since I had to press the window's key in order to get out. But this was well done overall.
The first iteration of the game loop used a budget management system, fireworks had a cost and that was used to prevent spamming. The thing was, when players didn't spam and lost the game in 3 seconds, they kept looking at the budget indicator instead of enjoying the show. Eventually it evolved into this system, that also resembles the structure of a real fireworks show leaving some breathing room for the audience to react.
I'll be more thoughtful of the UI the next time. Thanks for the feedback!
You did an amazing job. The fireworks are beautiful and the sfx make them even more realistic.
You also managed to design a good progression system, and that was not easy with all the limitations of this jam. 10/10
Thanks!!
I experimented with the Unity VFX Graph, and this was also my first time trying out the reverb effect in-game (it sounds a bit metallic, but it's good enough). Progression took a couple of revisions to get right, that's where most of my time went :-)
Really satisfying and beautiful to look at. I really like the levelling system and variety of fireworks. Two things I'd mention - maybe a quit button on the main menu because it's a bit difficult to get out! Also more indication of when you'd get the maximum cheer as to me at least I wasn't sure whether the full heart would be enough or I should carry on going. But those are very minor things, it's a really solid game!
UI feedback was something I left for the last minute, you're right. Next time I'll prioritize having at least the minimum navigation buttons available too.
Thank you so much for playing!
Really cool game dude. I love how that fireworks looks, and its fascinating to play and unlock the last fireworks.
Thank you for playing, and for the feedback!
Firework goes Boom, me goes Happy.
Happy to make you happy
A really cool mechanic, so many bright colors, nice effects, a clear goal that rewards us whit a lot of greets and happy people, and the fact that you cant see the terrain makes it more "intimate" I think, I just really enjoyed the experience, well done!
This was my first time using the Unity terrain tools, and there was going to be a city in the middle of the valley, but never got to add it. The intimacy ended up being like a happy accident :-)
Thank you for playing!
Love love LOVE the visuals and sfx. The fireworks are really nice to look at and it's very relaxing. On the other note, it might be my computer but the game gets laggy from time to time. On the other other note, this was really fun.
I think I went overboard with the particle count, sorry!
Thank you for playing!
Really Cool!! Love the concept and the visuals that accompany it are beautiful. Thanks for making and releasing this!
