Loved the look of the game, the art was great, the ghosts looked really cool!

My only issues were that I didn't know what I was doing, the flashlight was turning off every second and I was sliding around without pressing any buttons!

Other than that the game looks great and I think with some polish and gameplay it would be a cool  game!

Interesting and fun foundation for a game!

Things I Liked:

  • Ghosts looked unique and pretty scary.
  • I enjoyed how dark it was with the contrasting of the flashlight.
  • Loved the sounds used. A bit of an ethereal ghost vibe.

Some Notes:

  • I wasn't too sure what the objective of the game was. I wondered around a bit and enjoyed how spooky it was though!
  • The flashlight flickering was a bit too frequent. I don't mind it shutting off every now and then, but it felt like it was turning off every 5 seconds.
  • The ghosts didn't do much more than be scary.

It looks like you had the start of a good foundation, but it just needed more direction for the player to follow. Regardless, it's spooky!

Thanks for a great entry!

Great background sounds.  I didn't have the problems with the hands that others did - I used the PC version on a Quest 2 and it worked fine.  Good game.  Thanks.

Good foundation for a game! It feels spooky.

It's a good idea. Just some little problems made it a bit hard to play unfortunately (tried the apk version, so not sure if the other one would be better).

For some reason my hands were rotated around 90 degrees, what made it bit difficult to grab the flashlight. Also the flashlight turns off totally randomly each few seconds unfortunately.

I like the look of the ghosts , just wished, that they would have any impact or so. Seemed they just disappeared when they reached me, what somehow made them less terrifying suddenly ^^

I think i reached all corners ( just wished there would be a possibility to run or so... really durated an eternity^^ ), but somehow couldn't find the exit,.. not sure, did i miss anything important?

All in all it is a great fit for the theme and the whole atmosphere is pretty spooky. Guess with some polishment this could become pretty fun.

Btw: The app name on the quest is somehow totally unrelated to your name here, made it a bit hard to find (because i installed a few apks of the jam at once). No problem at all, just that you know :-)

Was a little confused at the start - wasn't aware of the flashlight until I read Beard's comment. Once I got the flashlight, it made more sense...  A good spooky atmosphere to it and the menacing ghosts add a nice constant threat to it.

I would suggest that the flashlight power was made longer, I see it's part of the game - however it became more frustrating than a challenging mechanic. I was on the Quest and the hand positions were off - I'm guessing you used Auto-hand (I had the same issue too!), they were facing downwards so aiming the torch felt a little odd.

In any case, nice feel and look to the game - spooky atmosphere!

I went in first attempt without reading the description. Big mistake. Ended up walking off and not knowing about the flashlight. After reading the description I tried again and found the flashlight and discovered I could teleport if I wanted to (click right thumbstick). Couldn't find anything but ghosts who don't do anything. I did like that the eyes of the ghosts were unlit (visible even without flashlight) and then I could see them fully with the flashlight on. Would be cool if everything had more SFX and some mechanic that would allow evading or getting hurt or fearful (maybe a fear meter when the ghosts linger too close too long?). The flashlight grab was positioned a little strange for me, too. I had issues with grab positions in my entry as well. The flashlight on/off seemed wonky/unpredictable. I don't know if it's supposed to be a straight toggle, or a hold-to-shine, or something purposefully unreliable.

Yeah thanks for all the suggestions! I really didn't have much time at all really, and I actually forgot to implement ghosts resetting you back to the bed lol. I also forgot to disable teleporting but kind of nice as long as it worked. SFX would definitely make the flashlight more obvious, but it was actually a toggle, and it had a battery. It would be more red or green depending on how long you have had it on for. A fear meter would be really cool if I had thought of that earlier, but honestly this game jam was reaaaally rushed haha. And I sorta forced myself to even finish it in the end. The flashlight you can grab from any angle since I'm using AutoHands for auto posing. I'm curious though did you manage to finish the game or no? And thanks for playing too!
