Thanks for playing and the review.  These comments are very appreciated.

My previous jam entries have been less polished and too complicated for the shorter play time.  I tried to focus more on a polished experience and a simpler game play but I think I went too simple on the game play.  I like your suggestion of items at the ground level - bouncing or otherwise.  I also think more variety of items would be more enjoyable.  This game was based on a game idea I have had for some time where I would have a whole a series of types of items to collect with different points, powers, order of collection, etc.  This jam entry was more to try this game style out in a more simpler game play - and really to focus on the polish\presentation.  (One day I might approach your level of polish which is always inspiring :) )

I will be working on an update after this jam to this game with the suggestions provided.  Thanks for playing and the review.  Glad you enjoyed it.

Thanks for playing and the detailed review!  Honestly I do these jams partly to explore a new item or mechanic and for the feedback from fellow developers.  It is very appreciated.

Most of my projects focus on open world environments - making then immersive and performant.  I am glad they worked well for you.  (My target is always my Quest 2 standalone hoping that if it plays well there it would play well elsewhere.)  I was a little worried about the vertical focus of the game an I apologize if proved uncomfortable.  I provided a run mechanism with the control triggers to help get around easier and kept the walk speed a little slower for those that get motion sickness (although it is adjustable a bit in the game menu and lobby menu).  I was not especially happy with the reactive sound effect either but muting it or removing made it a little odd.  Perhaps an option to mute the effects or a different sound effect will help. I will give it some thought.

I really like the idea of varied jumping heights or a "super" jump.  Wish I had thought of that.  I will be making an update after this jam based on these suggestions.

I noticed your usage of the same skybox.  It is an excellent asset.  One of the better skyboxes that I have come across so far.  I like the variety of skies that it provides as well as the detail.

Thanks for playing and the review!  I really liked your entry as well.  I was torn on doing a bow and arrow game myself but decided on the catcher game as this was a project idea that I have had for some time and was wondering how this would work.  Your shooter was a great game in the jam which I enjoyed a lot.  Thanks.

Thanks for playing and the review.  My past game jams were a little too complicated and not polished enough so I was trying to keep the game loop simple and clean.  I might have leaned too heavy on the simple side.   I am going to be making an update after the jam with some more complicated game loop as well as difficulty levels - all based on the excellent reviews provided.

Thanks again for playing and I hope you enjoyed.  I enjoyed your entry.  Very cool.

Thank you for playing and the review.  In my past jam entries I had not polished the quite enough so I tried to give polish an extra focus.

Thanks for noticing the In Death influence.  It is one of my favorite games in VR partly due to the aesthetics.

I enjoyed your entry.  Very excellent character physics.  Very impressive.

Don't forget about the exploding hearts and exploding flowers.  Honestly I hate the slower paces my self so when I test I am pretty much always "running".  I had a setting in the main lobby that you can adjust the walking speed but I kept it at the slowest setting by default because some players tend to get motion sick from fast movements (so I have I read).

I like the idea of adding a penalty for going under water although I was trying to have a full - go anywhere - environment.  There are natural colliders in the physical objects like trees and buildings and rock boundary areas.

I also like the zone areas idea where some areas are easier to navigate.  I will be making an update this weekend and I will add both ideas into that update.

Thanks for playing and reviewing.  I hope you enjoyed it.  I enjoyed your entry a lot.  Very unique and cool.  I enjoy VR immersion but wow.

Great environment.  I had read some of the comments prior to playing so I kind of knew the concept - which is very cool!  I still struggled getting the hearts to stick into the wall.  I liked the inventory rig structure.  It worked really well for me.  Really great job - especially for a first time!

This was a lot of fun.  Great NPCs and yes - I like the skybox.  I was not sure about the scoring but the action and reactions were very good.  I see now from the comments there was a pairing process.  I will definitely retry this.  Great job!

I like the separate areas - the starting area had a lot of points of interest.  I also enjoyed the background music and sounds which really added to the experience.  Good job.

Lots of fun.  I actually found the characters and physics very cool and pretty easy to control.  Great job!

Very cool and relaxing.  Enjoyed all the exploring and the environment.  Great job!

Very nice.  I think I enjoyed the climbing portion the best.  I like the sound positioning.  Very fun.  Great job!

Fun and cute.  I enjoyed the physic interactions.  Was not sure what to use the cheese for.  Good job!

Well - that was interesting.  I was a little prepared by watching the discord discussions.  The game play was pretty cool.  I did get a lot of the voice overs cut off or over lapping.  Still lots of fun.  Great job.

Very fun game.  I had to change the setting to easy but it was a lot of fun.  Looked very clean as well.  Great job.

Thanks for playing the game and for co-hosting the jam.  It was a lot of fun making the games.

I was originally going to make all of the environments very dark to keep with the theme of afraid of the dark.  The only one that really made it was the first one but even that I lightened it up a bit to make it a little easier - so ya - I kind of missed the theme a little.  But I tried to keep it kind of Halloweeny.

I am trying to figure out the focus of game play in my projects and that is a BIG thing I am working on.  Until that happens my real goal is to try to entertain you all and listen to feedback which is very appreciated.

FYI I have posted an update based on some feedback in the reviews and plan on posting some additions to the game including a true story line to incorporate all of the items together.

Thanks for playing.

Thanks for playing the game - and for co-hosting the jam!  I appreciate your comments.  I really enjoy making VR environments and try to focus on emergence and Quest performance but my game play really suffers.  As this was my second game jam I will adjust and fine a better balance (my first game jam earlier this last summer I made my game far too complicated and long - this one maybe a little too simplistic).

The third game was a little extra thing I added the last day - probably should have kept it out as it didn't add much and as you noticed didn't have complete NPC mechanics.

I have posted an update that fixed the snap logic, NPC AI and allows the NPCs more kill options.  Likely I will merge all three of these games into a single game flow down the road.  Again, thank you for your comments.  These comments and feedback is my goal here.

Sorry about that.  I only have a Quest 2 to work against so that is where I targeted the game.  I will try to figure out a method to test against the Index and if successful I will provide an update.  Thank you for trying though.  The effort is appreciated.

Great background sounds.  I didn't have the problems with the hands that others did - I used the PC version on a Quest 2 and it worked fine.  Good game.  Thanks.

This was a lot of fun to play.  I loved the environment and the humor.  It played fine on my Quest 2.  Like others I look forward to playing additional expansions.  Thanks.

This was a lot of fun to play.  Very cool concept and well executed.  I liked the multiple levels and look forward for see any additions you add.  Great job!

Very nice - excellent atmosphere.  The music was very well suite and really set the mood. It ran really smooth for me on my Quest 2 (I ran the PC version).  I didn't find all of the tapes but will give it another go in a little while.  Thanks.

Thanks.  It was a lot of fun making.

Thanks for checking out the game(s) and the comments.  My first game jam I made my game WAY to complicated so I tried to make a much simpler quick to play game.  Next time I will focus more of difficulty settings and as you pointed out if time allows additional "levels" instead of different games to chose.  I really appreciate the feedback from you and everyone.  Thank you!  BTW your game was truly amazing.  Lots of fun.

Thanks for playing. I was trying to make more simpler game play like simply hunt as many zombies as possible with a time limit or open random doors for trick or treats.  Perhaps better instructions would help. I can add AI logic next time.  Thanks for the suggestions.  I hope you enjoyed the gigantic gun. Big guns are always fun when hunting zombies.

Thanks for playing the games. The NPC logic was new to me so that kind of is where I spent my time.  Environments I can kick out pretty quickly, only takes a few hours. The rest I have had prototypes from previous projects. I think I will post a dev log in the icho.io page in case anyone is interested in my process.

The third game was intended to be a maze game but I ran out of time. I kept it in because the structure was complete and kind of fun but I didn't get the game play all worked out. I provided an update that fixed the weapons in the third game and the snap rotation. The crossbow now has 1000 arrows and the hand cannon has 6 grenades.

It was a lot of fun to make. Thanks for the review.

Really nice game.  I really like the little lights as guides.  It really helped direct the process.  I also really liked the forest, rain and props.  All excellent.

Nice job.  I liked the maze of rooms to explore.  I also really like the random props like the statue.  The style of the rooms was excellent.  I enjoyed finding the lights switches - it was so dark initially until I found the first one.  Then it all fit together.  The sounds and music was excellent.  I dropped couple of the clips and could not get them from the ground.  Also I was not sure what the gun was intended for.  Still great game!  Thanks.

Very nice game.  It seemed that there were not a lot of colliders - I was able to pass through various props and walls.  I liked the full body avatar.  I also wish there were more objects through out the house with effects tied to them but I understand there was little time to add those extras in.  Very well done.

Very fun corn maze and castle maze.  I liked the chase enemies.  I didn't seem to hear any audio - I am using a Quest 2 and played the Windows version.  I was also a little confused by the scene resets which seemed to occur often.  All in all very fun to play.

Very nice.  I really enjoyed the experience.  Cool ending - room to continue the story.  I like it.  Congratulations.

Very amazing.  Incredibly clean environment, material and design.  Fantastic.  Really smooth game mechanics and I really enjoys the shooting mini games.  Super well designed and executed.  Congratulations.

Very nice lobby.  I really enjoyed the mall environment as well.  I kind of wish I could have moved around and explored a little - one my favorite things to do in VR is explore.  Very cool.  Great job.

I have uploaded a fixed version - v1.01 - that keeps the snap turn option set for each of the games.  I am very sorry for the unpleasant gaming experience.  I hope this helps.  Thank you.

Oh ya, when I developed this I had a FPV controller setup and the spiders would push the FPV controller around and the player could jump onto the spiders - couldn't ride them thought - that would have been cool.

Thanks for playing. So sorry for the snap turn bug in the games. I tested it out in the lobby but missed testing it in the games.  Victim of the 7 day horror. My original prototype allowed the bat's to be shot at. I should have kept that in. I can can make an update later this week for both of these issues.

Thanks for playing the games

Oh wow.  That des not sound very fun.  I believe I have seen this issue myself.  I will work on a fix for that.

Thanks for playing the game and the review.  I am fan of open world - exploration games and tried to fit the game jam theme into it via crafting an a delivery system but it was a lot to work in in 7 days.  I am afraid some items suffered a bit.  Now I have some more time I will polish those items you mentioned up.

I tried to optimize the performance but I only have a Quest headset to work towards which seemed to work pretty well but there is definitely some room for improvement.  I am very sorry for the motion sickness.  I am curious what platform you used.

I really appreciate you playing the game and hope you found enjoyment in it.  Thanks.

BTW: The helmet was just a silly add on - no purpose but to amuse me in the wee hours of development time.  :)

Thank you.  It was a fun game to make.  I am sorry about the motion sickness - never fun.  I tried to add a snap turn option in the main menu to help with that but it still happens.  I am glad you were able to explore the castle a bit.  I wanted to put in more fun things to play with but kind of ran out of time.  I hope you enjoyed the game.

Thanks for the awesome feedback!  Incredibly helpful.  I made the helmet grabbable so the player can grab the right side of the helmet, take it off, reposition, etc.  Just a fun silly item.  My projects in the past have been more atmospheric and this was the first game play project I attempted - so spot on comments there!  I will see if I can optimize some of the points you noted.  Really appreciate the feedback.  Thanks.
