Theme

Pinball City

Correlation to theme
I think this song fits the theme of Pinball City because:
- The percussion makes it sound alive/almost chaotic
- The bassline sounds cool/bouncy, like Pinball City is where all the cool people go
- The main melody sounds like a detuned trumpet, which gives the place a wacky feeling (a city made from pinballs is pretty wacky)
- Certain softer sound effects sound digital and arcade-y

This is really cool! My favorite part is right at the beginning when the beat comes in. At first it sounds like you were going to go in a different direction, but then it suddenly turned into a pinball city! The thing that struck me as most impressive about this is the mixing - everything sounds really well-balanced and I love the background pulsing instrument that emerges and seems to swirl around at 0:28. The trumpet melody next to the bassline feels like a quirky Animal Crossing theme which works really well with the description you made. Great work and thank you for sharing!

Hey, thanks for your feedback!

I wanted it to feel sudden, because I love it when songs make a rule then immediately break it.

I'm so happy you like the mixing, and that you think it feels like a pinball city.

Yeah the 0:28 swirling part is a unique bit of percussion I found in a kit called 'Ultimate Boom Bap Kit'. I made it swirl by fading the panning from right to left.

I'm quite proud of the trumpet melody, so the comparison to Animal Crossing is amazing to hear - I'm glad you caught the wacky vibe.

This is really creative and has a lot of very interesting sections and musical ideas. It does feel a little unorganized at times, although that might've been intentional. This is the most creative submission I've seen so far. Very well done!

Oh wow, thanks so much!!

I LOVE the 0:00 - 0:09 part. It feels so serene. I want more of that :)

The song fits the pinball city feel well. It has a nice beat and bassline to it. Though I am not too fan of the sound of the instrument introduced at 0:19, but I do really like the one introduced at 0:29. Overall, well done :)

Yes, I wanted to include the serene bit so that I could come in hard with the beat

Yeah the detuned-trumpet type sound is an acquired taste hehe

Glad you like the little digital sound though

Thank you for your feedback!

The trumpet sound and melody are fun.

You've added a rhythmic sound that's all the way to the left and then to the right, like a cracking or reloading sound. What is it?

Developer

Thanks! Yes, there's a sort of cracking/clicking sound that plays twice in the left ear, and then the "reloading" sound plays. The percussion is just various samples from a boom bap kit, I think it's called the ultimate boom bap kit or something like that. Glad you enjoyed it!
