The art is good. I like the art.

The audio is also good, but the background music only plays in the left ear, and that bothers me bit. If it weren't for that, the audio would be near perfect. A little variation in the sounds would also be nice, but that might be reaching for a three hour jam.

The gameplay actually reminds me a lot of Super Mario Bros. The enemy killing gives me strong goomba vibes. I like it! I also like the way the mechanics are introduced kind of slowly to ease you in. That said, the lack of checkpoints is annoying and the hitboxes are a little jank. It also gets a little bit repetitive.

All in all, while it has some things that I think could be fixed, I do like the art style, I do like the potential for the gameplay, and I would like the audio if it played in both ears. Good luck!

Oh, thanks fot the reply! I never tried the sounds with headphones on, I sure must fix that. If I would have had time, I sure may have added checkpoints, but I just figured the game was so short it would be fine.

Beautiful art and good sound. Gameplay is also good, but I think the game could have some form of checkpoints, because at the moment every time you die you are sent right to the beginning and have to do everything you did before again before you arrive where you failed last time. Besides that, it is a really good game with a beautiful atmosphere (a more satisfying ending would have been nice, but the game is already great without it (especially considering it was made for a trijam)).

Great work. I really liked the art style and the music, the controls are good, but I was getting angry at those spikes killing me  when I couldn't see them beforehand 😭

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the reply! Also you should be able to see all spikes beforehand, maybe you didn't scroll down enough much in the game page so that they weren't seeable?

Oh, sorry, my bad! My browser was zoomed in and I couldn't see the game page properly. I fixed it here and I was able to finish your game hahaha. Thank you for pointing it out!

Really great work, and as others have pointed out - really polised and finished for the time limit. Very un-forgiving, but hey - it is a tough life!

A very nice little game. Very polished for 3 hours of work. The music is very repetitive, but a really nice fit with the theme.
