Things I liked

  • Visuals are excellent.
  • Feels polished for a jam game, I didn't notice any bugs.
  • Overall, very well executed.

Opportunities for improvement

  • The difficulty ramps up a bit too slowly.  There were quite a few waves that felt too easy before the challenging ones came.

Hey there! Glad you enjoyed it! I'm sorry about the too easy feeling. We weren't sure on the balancing so we took the safe route haha.

Your feedback will definitely be taken into account for the difficulty curve adjustment for the release version!

Simply WoW, like the others said. Incredible what you guys made in just a week.
My only complaint is that game crashed after few seconds on release. :)

Developer

Hey, we are sorry to hear about that! I know the first few hours we had a build up that was crashing early on. The next build update seems to have fixed that though. If you're still getting crashes, we would love to know when it seems to occur and your specs if possible!

WOW. The polish on this! Super easy to get into, responsive controls, nice and gradual difficulty curve, UI elements are cute as heck (Really appreciate the health bar looking like hand drawn cardboard), the music is cute as well! sounds like a janky medieval gigue~ and motion graphics?! What?!~

The only areas that i can even nitpick is that the environmental elements like the geyser and the glue patches don't feel impactful enough.. Overall a super amazing job~

I'd be super into seeing the alternate skins if yall end up developing it~ Great job you guys~

Some suggestions from a noob:

  • If the players didn't have the 3 lives from the beginning, and instead had to earn their 1ups through the gameplay, it would've fit the "death is not the end" theme a bit better imho~
  • small tweak to inverse the upper body rotation in relation to the hip's rotation will drastically improve the animation quality (hip points to the Right, shoulder points to the Left, head points to the Right)
  • adding supporting lights to simulate bounce lights will reduce the harshness of the shadows and help with the overall aesthetics
  • the ground looks a tad flat and can get boring to look at after awhile, can be changed up  with a blend of tileable ground textures

That's some excellent feedback, thank you very much and thanks for playing!

Cool game. Controls are responsive, like the theme and all that. I have one nitpick and one actual criticism for the game in its current form:

Nitpick: Imo the player shouldn't collide with the chunks of enemy on the ground

Actual thing: The camera seems to kinda freak out whenever I get near a wall, and moreso when I'm near a wall and the paper airplane is nearby, it caused it to rapidly shake and zoom in/out on several occasions

Still though, I really like the vibe and gameplay so far!

Hey there! We really appreciate that feedback! I do believe we forgot about the planes possibly obstructing the camera view. That's definitely something to fix in the release version.

We glad you enjoyed it nonetheless! Be sure to be on the look out for updates if you'd like to see the progress for the release!
