nice design but i think have to work a bit on colliders and hit effects. its a bit hard to feel that damaged:)

The game looks pretty good, but the Goulash throws a bit to much projectiles in my opinion.
Well dont tell that to me but try convincing him instead.
So I started the game yesterday on TV first, bad choice for such a fast-paced title! Today I tried it on PC and finally managed to defeat Goulash. What a paprika inflated joke. I like the art, especially the details like animations and reflection. Where do you plan to release your "flooded world" game? Sound like a nice concept. Have fun and have a good day.
Question is not where but when : D. Cause id probably release it on most pc platforms possible (esp steam). The initial idea was for turn based rpg but due to this jam im really starting to doubt the idea : P and just make action rpg instead. Hope you liked paprika flavored sauce!
This game is very fun to play both viscerally and tactically. Although there is only one level it's well polished. The connection to the theme is probably this game weakest point but I think the duel is a better connection here than in other games since there are only two combatants. This game reminds me a lot of Hyper Light Drifter in its gameplay, artstyle, and even music.
Thats the biggest compliment i could've heard. I've certainly inspired my artstyle on hld stuff. And disasterpeace (hlds music creator) had really big impact on how i approach music creation : >
Hey congrats on your very first jam! It's a really big accomplishment, definitely take the time to enjoy the post-jam hype. Now on to your game: it was fun! I really like the style. The flooded forest idea is pretty cool and the unique colors of the trees with the vibrant blue water makes for a pretty neat palette. The audio, while not too fancy, did its job.
The boss was fun to fight and the game felt good. I do feel like the dash maybe covered too much distance to where it was harder for me to estimate where I'd land. So I actually ended up beating the boss without the dash at all, which added some nice challenge to it. I do feel like the ranged attack is a little too useful. So maybe if the player didn't have a dash they could spend a bit of their stamina by using the ranged attack. But I'm not here to tell you how to design your own game.
The design is overall really good! While I think the relevance to the theme could have been a bit stronger, the game itself was quite fun. Keep up the good work!
Hey, thanks for such a great feedback! in terms of ranged attack I actually find melee way easier to play with so i guess its matter of the preference : P. Drawback from range is longer inability to move than with melee ( i dont recall corectly but melee is like 200 ms vs 400 ms on ranged or smth alike). And melee has huge range aswell so u dont need to run into a boss to damage him : >
Yeah for sure, I definitely used a mix of melee and ranged. But I suppose it all depends on the maximum length of the frog's tongue. Either way, the removal of the dash could make for a little hard mode challenge or something haha
Well rn time between moves is 1 sec into 0.33s on the second phase. But this is already planned as drinking game for new years eve with 0s between attacks I've already tested that and getting hit 6 times with a tongue in a second is indeed fun challenge : D. Also dash gives much needed invincibility frames so u can dodge bullets.
Lol at first I thought this was going to be easy, I was very wrong! Great game, lots of juice and the was very appealing to look at!

The gameplay is great! It feels really easy to play but hard to master. It took me about 5 tries before beating the boss but each time I felt like I was getting better. I think the connection to two is a little bit weak but other than that it's a really good game

Really like the art style on this one and good job implementing a boss fight! I'm not convinced by the control scheme, but i think it's a matter of preference rather than actual design issue, so well done!

The idea was boss is two creatures - frog and its parasite, aswell as it's duel but i agree i didn't put anything yellin "Two" in the game :P.
