I would strongly suggest not to go with a physics based approach to grabbing with a game like this - sometimes grabbing an animal felt more like one of those rigged claw machines than a spaceship designed to kidnap. As others have said before, this also needs sounds and some more interesting surroundings, but a cool idea nonetheless.
nice game, please check mine and any suggestion are welcome.
Pretty fun, I like those physics. But the game does feel a bit silent. (Reads about the optional challenge.) Oh, I guess that's on purpose.
The art looks great! (sees holes in shadows.) Well, I imagine it would be hard to get the swinging crane and rope to cast shadows in a realistic way. As for the buildings, the animals and the top of the spaceship, I guess you didn't have time to make better shadows for those.
And I think this is one of the most fun ways to "collect" stuff I've come across so far in the submissions. That and the silence (you can't hear anything in space anyway) makes me think you really nailed the theme.
Really fun and clever game! Great work on doing something 3D for the jam and the physics are also very good and fun to play with. overall Great Work!
It would mean a lot if you could check out my game for the Jam and leave feedback if you get the chance. Thanks!
I reviewed your game:
Loved the physics! Then I was that you did "In a Song" Challenge, I was like what? there's sound? Then I read the song title, yep! I think all those years of History of Music in college and the love of my professor for atonal music were useful only to get this joke, which I did! Good job!
A very fun concept but the small animals (chicken and ducks) were nearly impossible to pick up.
very fun to play game well done
Super fun physics based crane game! I guess the only comments I have would be to make the levels look nicer and to have the smaller animals be easier to pick up (I genuinely could not get a single chicken after two minutes of trying) Other than that, good luck with your future games! if you have the time, I'd appreciate it if you also tried my game out!
This was fun! Wish you had more time to make a larger level and maybe some moving animals . it was pretty diffcult to grab the smaller animals. but i enjoyed it :D
Would you be so kind, to giea my game a go? https://itch.io/jam/vimjam/rate/768017#post-2032950
love to hear what you think of it :)
Yeah I initially planned to have the animals roam around the level but I soon discovered doing game jams and balancing exams is not easy.
Funny concept! Only thing I would say is limit how far the player can go from the area. Also it looks like there's supposed to be music, but none plays. I had problems with my audio on Webgl too. Good job though!
