How does your game apply the limitation (and optionally, the theme)?
My game fits because the player is a boss in a company and they influence votes that are on the edge.

A nice take on the theme with a unique mechanic... there's certainly lots that could be expanded on here.

It was tricky understand at first, but I got there in the (multiple) end(s)!

Also, do you edit your HTML files after exporting to fix the audio-crackling bug with Godot?

Developer (1 edit)

I don't know why the audio doesn't crackle but I think its just because my game isnt as performance intensive.

There are games in this jam that I feel like I could like more, with a bit more polish and maybe expansion, but as-is Company B is my favorite game in the whole jam. Its core mechanic weakens player agency—I lost so much Influence in my first playthrough that I couldn't stop myself from going down a spiral of decreasing Influence and increasing Sanity until I got the serene ending—but in a way that makes the game tense rather than frustrating. The aesthetics/presentation was solid, too. It's probably the only game in the jam that I'm going to play again without waiting for a post-jam bugfix/tweak update.

Thanks for the kind comment! <3

Really cool, coherent style, love the sounds and animations, the gameplay was cool, just a little repetitive (I wasn't sure what the end goal was other than to keep all numbers above 0). Regardless, a fun little game!

The goal of the game is to get all the endings

I love the style of this game, even if the gameplay itself was simple. Love the menu and animations as well. Good job!

I never finished the game but the music was boppin and the art was pog, the only issue in the game is it gets boring after like day 10.

The idea of influencing the choices of a company at the cost of your own stats is nice and well executed in this game. I also liked that the name of companies are a single letter chosen randomly.

The small amount of questions makes the game repetitive quickly. I think that the self-centered question (promotions and demotions) are too frequent and that there could be more questions about employees or other managers. The different endings are a good idea but it's too difficult to reach the low influence one. Overall it's a good game.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I wanted to add more questions but it was REALLY hard to think of interesting ones lol.

wasent too sure what i was doing confused what the game was doing

Developer (1 edit)

Sorry this is my first time making a game like this, why/where did you get stuck?

Submitted

hey its a good game i just must have not understood somthing. so i got to a level where he goes into the spikes so i block the spikes he hits the wall and walks back and climbes the ladder up again i tried blocking off the ladder but he would go back to the spike so its an endless loop like that

Developer

… I think you commented on the wrong game?

Submitted

oh lmao yup i was talking to someone else aswell as soon as you wrote that

Submitted

yea i was confused on how the game works really didnt understand it there wasnt much of an explination all i saw was a bar randomly going up and down green to red?

Developer

Did you look at the how to play lol

Submitted

oh lmao didnt even see that my bad lmao

Submitted

I enjoyed that! The selection of endings is a nice touch.

Good concept, even if it's a bit simplistic. Theme is very well implemented here. That's not my cup of tea, but it works well, congrats.

Developer

Yeah, tbh it’s not really my cup of tea either but I wanted to try something new for this jam!

Submitted

Ah i get it! :D Took me some time to figure out how it works. Could need some humor or something within the tasks, but the game as whole seems polished. The graphic matches the theme. i realy like it.

Really really liked the implementation of the theme here, super clever. That said the game is a bit basic. There are not enough questions and only the influence stat influences the gameplay. (the other 2 are only for endings).

It's a really neat concept and I could see this as a "streamer game" where teh streamer is the boss and the viewers can influence the vote. A lot of potential really. And teh game looks really good with teh shaders and stuff.

Nice work !

Developer(+1)

Yeah, at first I was hoping to make it more like papers please and have a storyline for everyday but I couldn’t think of enough storylines for that.

cool game with cool music

Some cool concepts here but just not enough information or gameplay to keep my attention.  Graphics and music were really cool though

Give mine a try if you have some time https://itch.io/jam/vimjam2/rate/1200495

This has good game play, but the game idea is not clear or even gorgeous. Everything seems to be randomized; While the randomizing is not bad feature, here it is just too much.

I like this paper-/television theme a lot. I like how it's simple, and all i do is read and react, which is cool. Also fun indeed, but game world is odd at same time. This kind of game (outfit & atmosphere) could be relaxing to play, and with the enlarged game concept the game could be available to buy from console app store - maybe for a news paper price  - of for 99 cent.

Developer

Thanks!
