This game was so fun!! The art was so charming and the mechanics were delightful. I loved that there were multiple ways to solve some of the levels to get all the gems or just take the easy way and move along. Really great interpretation of multi-use and turn up the heat, too!

I encountered a couple of minor bugs (or things that felt to me like bugs), but none of it was game-breaking. Like a few others I noticed the bounce pad slime had some odd behavior with vertical speed, but I figure this could equally be a bug or a feature. I also had a spot where the same level played twice in a row, but I liked that level, so it's all good!

You made so many levels and had a really fun mechanic and art style. 10/10, had a lot of fun! Would definitely buy an expanded/polished version as a phone game or something.

Overall, this is a nice lemmings game. It has cute graphics and intuitive levels. Also it is cute that the big slimes slow down for the little one.

Notes for improvement:

  • No hotkey to start the level
  • Launch pads don't reset vertical velocity
  • The current 'selected form' button is only subtly changed
  • Each level starts too zoomed in
  • No warning to the slimes popping
  • Game boots to level select
  • The menu sign doesn't fully dip into the lava

Once again, I did enjoy the game, these are more so nitpicks.

Also thanks for the notes, will fix those when I continue!

Well done! A very solid game and well polished. I am impressed with how much you were able to get in.

I think it would be nice to have a little better indication of where slime direction post transformation would be helpful. I'd figure out how to complete the level, but I'd have to restart 3 or 4 times to get them positioned just right or time the transformation just right in order to get all 3 gems.

Other than that, really well done! Thanks for the submission, I had a good time playing it.

Ye, also heard from other indicators would be appreciated. Will certainly be in a next version!

Really cool game, It has a lot of levels and transformations to play around with. Doing this while making a level editor is really amazing.

honestly the amount of content in this game for a game jam is astounding. I can only imagine the hoops you had to go through to get all of this done. but if there is one nitpick i could mention, the sprites for most of the transformations on the how to play screen are just white boxes, it doesn't take away from the gameplay, it's just something I noticed

Developer

Ye, had a couple of days off of work, which helped a ton :p

And those white boxes are due to me trying to get a WebGL version working last moment during which something went wrong with the sprite imports. Didn't notice it until it was too late >.<

Thanks for playing!

That was a lot of fun, I could see this being expanded on and being a successful mobile game and pc game. The animations and character design were super cute too. I think the main menu could have been just a bit faster and the 'how to play' section was a bit wordy, maybe having more tabs with pictures (or short clips) demonstrating how things work would be easier for players to digest. Awesome work, keep it up!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Ye, completely forgot to speed up the menu, was on my to-do list, just didn't get to it.

Really glad you likes the animations/character design. Was my first time trying to create all art from scratch!

First impression with the menu was quite nice I must say, really liked the diagetic implementation of it. Though it seemed that it started in the level select screen instead of the main menu?

Nice to see Lemmings-like gameplay, don't see that kind of game often, but there wasn't much of a spin on it and some of the forms felt unresponsive relative to the spawn rate. Some of that unresponsive-feeling could be chalked up to a lack of sound effects for the slimes themselves, but the animations could use some snappier timing as well. The slimes themselves are cute and the transformations are nice, but could benefit from applying some animation principles such as squash & stretch and follow-through.

The level editor is a nice little technical-show inclusion, though I did find it weird how it seemed I couldn't put objects on the main layer in front of background walls, and it would be nice if the game elements that really need collision to work such as the gems could only be selected while you're on the middle layer.

Developer

Hey, thanks for playing!

Yea, kinda ran out of time. Wish I could've added some more juice to everything. As for the animation, this was my first time attempting creating all art myself, got a lot to learn!

Again, thanks for playing and the advice/pointers. I'll be sure to add/amend those!
