Super polished and fun to play! :D You did a great job of fitting the virtual pet and "in the zone" themes for the jam! Nice job :)!!

Interesting idea! I included it in my Virtual Pet Jam compilation video series, if you’d like to check it out. :)

This was really fun and addictive. I love it! It's really funny, too. I'll definitely play more soon, as I'm now determined to get to the end. Great job!

I'm in awe. Such a fun, fully realized game. You could absolutely put this on the app store and start making money today. Linus was cute, the gameplay was fun and SO juicy. I loved how you let me get "overpowered" at the end. It really feels like you had a concept for a classic game, and then figured out how to stick a vpet on it in a sensible, creative way. Great work!

Itch isn't letting me post the image but I beat it in 36:36.3!

ok damn. this is so awesome, it's such a fun concept done really dang well. the whole idea is silly but cute and linus is really funny as a subject for a 'pet' game, and the kicking to france is a great idea. i really loved the way the music evolved as well! that detail really made me smile. One thing I would critique is the overshot; i couldn't beat the game because on the 3rd or 4th level i either completely overshot, or some mushroom just randomly popped up and made me overshoot, and after 15 minutes on that one part i kinda just gave up, but even then i had fun!

great job!

ohhhh, I *knew* I was forgetting something. I meant to make it so that springs couldn't spawn near the zone but forgot in the rush of the last few days. That said, even after taking some time this evening to mess with it, I realized that actually adjusting those numbers is a far trickier balancing act than I would have thought...

It's tough, because the fact that you *can* overshoot is part of what gives the game its depth, but if I had the energy to tinker more, I would probably have multiplied The Zone's size by 1.5 (after having already doubled it in the first place).

Still! I'm glad you enjoyed it, thanks for giving it a try!

I just wanna say that the problem isn't even that big, like even if it was kinda annoying and I couldn't beat it, it was definitely one of the most fun jam games I've ever played !!!

Ok this is great. The core concept of booting the guy is simple but having the mechanics built around this makes for a very cohesive experience. The small attention to detail is great too - everything has juice and I especially like the grass flying around when you skid. Managing the food to maximize your distance is fun too. Not sure how far you could take this idea but something more fleshed out might be perfect for the switch or something. This is inspiring me to try build mechanics around a single concept too! Maybe next jam :D

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I enjoy making game systems with a decent amount of synergy, the setup can take some effort but the payoff is worthwhile. Thank you for playing!
